They left a threatening message in "Engrish" on my parents' answering machine claiming that the "cops" were on their way. I called them back and a Hindu in a loud call center claimed to be with the "IRS." Of course, the real IRS says "Internal Revenue Service" when they answer the phone and they don't operate out of a call center in Mumbai. I mocked Indians and asked them who they thought they were fooling with this crap.

This is a SCAM CALL!  My answering machine picked it up as the ROBOT stated "..occasion regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired in next 24 working hours.  And once it get expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment.  We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you.  The number to reach us is:  360-980-8896.  I repeat - 360-980-8896.  Thank you."  The grammatical errors and use of calling police officers "cops" and the fact that this was a robo-call AND that there are NO legal actions against me....  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.  DO NOT answer or call these people back!

Received same robo message. Called # back and got an Indian-accented man named "Mike Howard" who identified himself as IRS. I said I had received a call and wanted to know what it was about. He asked for my name. I asked him to prove that he was with the IRS and supply his manager's name with a different call back number. He argued with me for a few minutes about why I wouldn't just give my name and why I thought I deserved more information from him. I replied that if, in fact, he works for the IRS, then I pay his salary and I want his manager's number. After a few more minutes of playing with him, I told him he was a #*%(@)%(! and hung up.  Called back a few minutes later and got the same guy. When he asked for my info, I said, "Well, I'm hesitant to provide information because I understand there are some fraudulent calls from people claiming to be the IRS. Is that what this is?" and he hung up on me. Called a third time and he disconnected the call the minute he heard my voice. I must say, it is fun to turn the tables and bug the crap out of them with repeat phone calls. I really can't believe anyone would ever fall victim to this. It is so poorly executed.

    Good laughs
I used to be in the military so when they left their little threatening voice mail about 4 warrants against me and the local cops coming after me, I called them back and asked them if they knew I was a federal employee.  They of course said yes sir, we need all your information, at that point I told them to pound rocks.  I like messing with these guys.

Second time receiving this type of call. I immediately advised this individual that he was being reported to which he responded "oh, thank you so much. You are very sweet." In a middle eastern accent, which promptly pissed me off to the that I reminded him to (excuse the language here, but I'm tired of this) "remember where you are, [***]!" He  hung up.lmao!
