Caller wanted my bank routing number, credit card numbers, and my ss number. I gladly supplied this urgently needed info, and then mailed my wallet, cash and all to their PO box in Russia thatctheyceagerly supplied. I'm happy.

They called me in WI and asked to send me $10,000. I said "NO, I will send you $10,000." I sent the check out to their bank in Mozambique immediately. I hope they call me again so that I can send the rest of my money.

This incredibly rude caller dialed my cell phone number at 5:36 am this morning. The same caller called me yesterday, and I provided them with my ss  number, bank routing number, and my visa card number. Apparently they are just a little greedy, because this time they told me I won a cruise! I am very excited about winning the cruise, but they told me that they require me to provide a 1,000 dollar "processing fee". I told them to just go ahead and take it from my savings account since I had already given them my account numbers. Sadly, they told me that some unscrupulous person had already emptied out my bank account the day before. So, I decided to sign my social security check over to them every month via direct deposit. Boy oh boy, I can't wait to take my cruise! They told me I could bring my cats with me on my cruise! I am so excited that I wet myself a little and need to go change my adult diapers. I hope they call me again later today because I get lonely just talking to my cats all day. I suppose they are lonely too, and that's why they call me every day, several times a day. I love Texas, and I love Texans with big ummmmm cigars.

Now kiddies, these are just poor Russians trying to make a living. We need to supplement their income like  we do here - remember you didn't earn what you got and neither did I.  The more yoou make, the more people you need to support. They can't find intelegent jobs and even though their lazy is no excuse not to pay them. Give them all you can.

Why aren't entire cities hunting down these telemarketers, and hitting them in the face REALLY hard?

These calls are getting just like spam in your email box, you can spot it from 5 miles away. Not one call has gotten through is the over 2 years - but they keep trying. The intelligence of these people is mighty low, probably an IQ of 10 at best.
Their location can be New York City, Miami, India, Russia or one of Mohammad's goat men. Speaking of  Mohammad, he must have been on [***] up dude, wonder if he was gay.

"Survey" likely means they are phishing to assure a number is active and for a time that you are home to answer the phone. Even if you are signed up with the DNCR, expect an actual sales call soon.
The National Do-Not-Call Registry was a good start and 90+ percent of legitimate companies respect and use it. The remaining scum telemarketers will keep changing tactics and dancing around the DNCR and will only ever respond to what hurts their bottom line. My solution requires a bit of time and effort, but ultimately will save us all a lot of aggravation…
    1.    ALWAYS answer the phone – if we are running away, the “terrorists” win. ALWAYS “press  1” to talk to an Operator.
    2.    When you get an actual person, express reluctant interest in whatever product or service is being hawked. Talk slowly and ask lots of questions. Always give phony personal info like CC#, SS#, address, heck even change your name slightly. Keep them on the line as long as possible.
    3.    Try to get as much info about the company as possible and file a BBB complaint (“Unethical Sales Practices”). A national energy company recently revamped their entire telemarketing policies in regard to the DNCR in response to a BBB complaint I filed – this CAN work.
    4.    If the product involves your home, set up an appointment for a time that you are not home, or just don’t answer the door. This can cost a company a LOT of money and resources.
Remember, the goal is to cost these companies time, money, and maybe more importantly, to make it impossible for them to know if they are talking to a sucker, or just another Phone Punker. Be creative, have fun, and feel proud that YOU are helping to eliminate one of life’s many intractable and seemingly un-fixable problems.
