- Ann| 1 replyReceived a call from this number. Who is it?
- HarassedCalls and sometimes does not leave a message and sometimes asks for me by first name and then hangs up. The caller-ID says Citigroup. As far as I know, I have not done business with Citigroup.
- Caller: Citigroup
- ShannonThese people call us, at our business, 6-8 times a day and they just don't let up even though we already made payment arrangments with them. It is Citigroup and they are a collection company for Sears and a couple other retail credit cards, they are just a nusence constantly calling for money but don't let you get any work done to actually earn any.
- Caller: Citigroup
- Call type: Debt collector
- RuthI get several calls a day from this number, I've answered a few times to tell them to take me off the list but there is no one there so I assume it's one of those timed recordings that'll kick in with a recorded message after so many seconds. I want to be off this calling list!
- GretaThe caller ID reported this call as "North Carolina" and I picked up since my parents live in NC. The man calling claimed to be with Citibank or Citigroup (I can't remember which), and asked for my husband by his first name. When I said he was not home and wondered if I could take a message, the man asked whether there was a spouse he could speak with. When I identified myself as such, he urged me to confirm details of my husband's Citibank card. I was suspicious, since I don't believe Citibank would so flagrantly flout security procedures. After refusing to confirm any details and saying that I would have my husband call Citibank directly, I finally had to hang up on the caller, since he would not accept that response and continued pressing me for answers. I have read the previous comments saying that this may be a collection agency associated with Citibank. If it is, Citibank should fire them for improper handling of confidential data and of respectable customers. If it is not, people need to beware of this potential identity theft scheme.
- MikeI have a debt resolution company handling my credit cards and have received calls from this number. They left no message, and when I try to call back, my phone company rings the number before I finish dialing it, as if the system won't allow me to find out what company it is!
- LizetI get calls from this number upwards of 8 times a day. I'm fairly certain it's someone in connection with CitiGroup. I refuse to have anything to do with them because past times I've answered and set up payments, they never went through or went through late. Now I do all my bill pay online and ignore calls coming through
- gingI tried calling the number back..said the number was no longer in service. I called back less than 10 minutes after they called me.. ODD
plus they left no message.. - GaryCalls frequently during the day and weekends. Caller ID says "out of area" sometimes "unavailable." Picked up a couple of times and got dead air. Picked up last month and spoke with Barry. Calls me by my first name (my radar immediately lites up). Says he is doing an investigation to collect a debt. I ask what debt since I don't do business with CitiCorp, CitiBank, Citi...etc. He says they collect for a variety of credit companies. I ask if he would be more specific. He asks for my full name. I respond, "If you got this number then you already have that info. By the way what is my middle initial" (I always use my middle initial when doing business). He responds, "I will ask the questions!" I hung up.
- Caller: CitiCorp
- Call type: Debt collector
- HaggridJust started getting these. We are in Foreclosure and have missed CC payments to Sears Credit, which is handled by CitiGroup.
Be forewarned, ALL credit collection for major firms, including mortgage institutions, is either Citibank or Chase. They seem to have cornered the market on dunning.- Caller: Probably Ciitgroup
- tomprzcalls, when I answer them, claim to be from CitiBank Sears card. I have no Sears anything, except for a couple Craftsman wrenches -- paid for long ago, with cash. Certainly no Sears credit facility. Asks for late "$23.80" payment. Can't substantiate name, what purchase was for, dates, anything. Caller becomes more aggressive and annoyed as I ask for details; finally he hangs up.
- Caller: claims to be CitiBank for Sears Card
- Call type: Debt collector
- overit| 2 repliesThese people have called and called. Finally I told them in plain but clear language to stop calling my number, If i received one more call from them I was going to file a complaint with FCC which could cost them a $11,000 for each call. Calls stopped now they have resorted to using cell numbers and I file a complaint with each number.
- Caller: Who knows
- deedee replies to AnnTry blocking the number. I have the phone number previously assigned to a deadbeat! I have already blocked 17 collection agencies. This is maddening!!
- KELLIECalls 10x a day...leaves no message. When you try to call the number back, it gives "fast" busy. Annoying

- Vinnie replies to overit| 1 replyIf you have a cell phone, save them to your contacts w/ a Z in front if their name so you do not have to scroll through them. Set their ringtone to "no ring". That way you are never concerned. Not sure of you can do this on a land line phone, I only have my cell phone.
- Vnnie replies to VinnieNever disturbed, I meant, not sure why I typed concerned.
