They were supposedly calling on behalf of a police charity. This company is most assuredly a scam or very little of the money raised actually goes to the charity they represent. Based on their business ethics and practice this is a scam, so beware. While this number is new, I receive a call from Daytona area code about once a month, and they call repeatedly for about a week and then it starts up again with a new number and same old sales pitch. I've repeatedly asked to be taken of the calling list but like clockwork they start up again with a new number. I live in Florida and know people in Daytona area, to I "fall" for it and pick it up...scam!!!!

These scumbags called me at 7:23 in the morning representing themselves as the Police Benevolent Fund.  When I brought his attention to the time he was very rude and said he would call when he wants to.  Dont give this POS time of day.  SCAM

Didn't answer call.  Caller just hung up at answer machine activation.  No doubt its bogus.  Another day in the 21st century.

They actually asked for me when my recorder answered. So I picked up (which I rarely do) and no one was there. I'm seriously considering canceling my home phone but have to wait until my contract runs out. Verizon doesn't seem to care!

Geez.  I wouldn't be so happy to give to unknown callers - no one should give to charities over the phone - unless they have initiated the call themselves and know exactly who they are talking to.  Just because someone says they are "x, y or z" doesn't make it true!  Per other sites complaints about this number, looks like you got ripped off!

goldfinger works for the police dept scam so of course he writes that he gave generously.  He searched and found all these comments about the scam they are perpetrating.  Police depts don't need any money. they get free tax payers money and over pay the cops, and they get free health insurance and pensions that no one else gets.  The police depts get super discounts on everything they buy, if not free, so don't give to any police dept so called non profit scam.  Most all non profits are scams, 90% of the funds go to salaries for the executives to lead lavish lifestyles and they only donate at the most 10% by law as the gov protects non profits so they can scam the public.

I told the idiots I would make a donation of $10, of course they will never receive it. They waste my time so I waste their time.
then I blocked their number.  They mail an envelope with a phony police sticker and a card to mail back a check or write in a credit card number but no donation from me

I keep getting calls from that number and I am tired of it. I WANT IT TO STOP !

this number call at 8:22 am ,9:00 pm  leaves no message on answering machine. reverse number lookup is a private number. annoying calls reported to do not call

Just received a call from this number, with a barrel-chested sounding man armed with high pressure tactics to donate.  It took me a few seconds to realize it was a scam (usually, I get the foreign ones).  Now, I've come to enjoy the occasional messing with these people, but there are others who keep falling prey to them (especially the nastier ones like the IRS ones).  When are the phone companies going to crack down on this? Or someone?

I'm a Senior Citizen and this No Good (you know what) called and woke me up at 8:08 A.M. today.  I have medical issues and can't "jump" out of bed for these kinds of calls!  By the time I got to the phone, the answering machine answered.  The
nerve of these "you know whats" don't even leave a message!  On my phone, this same number appeared 2 times.  Once for the name of the "you know what" and the other with the same number!

I feel strongly about the statement you made which says "they over pay the cops (sic) and they get free health insurance and pensions that no one else gets". I would like to know which force that is because my man IS a cop, federal at that, and he pays out the butt for health insurance..... and he certainly has to pay for his own pension. In exchange for the FEW benefits he gets, he puts his life on the line every day for [***] like you to slander them. So, before you start making bogus claims in the future, please make sure that you actually know what you are talking about. I know you will get in a huff and try to make examples.....I can already tell you that you should not even waste your time, as I know they are bogus.
