My daughter received a call from this number while at school, she is in the 7th grade. She was scared as the voicemail stated she would be giving up her rights to an attorney and trial by jury of her peers. I called and the lady that answered was very rude and wouldn't tell me who they were or why they were calling. Has anyone received a call from these people previously? Thank you for your help!

I just got  lcall from this number  and   all I  heard was  court date  and  I try   to call the number back and  you can't call          them  back  and I just got  this number

I just receive the some call but this is my third receiving a call like this and the people keep switch numbers, names, and company. Do not call this people back all they are trying to do scam you out of money. I have talk to my court system in my area. Anyone that yo owe money already has your information if that want to take you to court. When ask for documents they will be rude and use unprofessional methods to try to get information from you.

I just got a call from this number. The lady stated this was the third and final attempt to reach me. They wanted to verify my current address so they could proceed with legal papers. She threatened to contact my human resources department so I could be served at work. I was given the number to call back and a case number to refer to. This is the third call since last week I have received, stating the same thing, different numbers they are calling from. She ended the message by saying "good luck in court" and hung up. Very unprofessional!

These extortionists are very convincing, which makes their scam so successful---in addition to the fact it is next to impossible to track them down because they are either using disposable cell phones or spoofing numbers and the names of firms utilizing VOIP to make them appear they are legitimate.Your best protection against becoming another victim of these criminals is to educate yourselves with the following facts (straight from the FTC's website):

A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.

I received a call from the same number threatening me with court action.  The lady stated I had given up my right to resolve the claim outside of court.  Additional they would be contacting my human resources department for the proper procedure to serve me with papers  for court on the property.  She ended the call with Good Luck In Court.

I got this call as well... So I called back, having read this page first. The person that answered explained he was a third party collection agency working with instant payday loans.com. He had all of my information to which he read it to me. I did have a payday loan with them, way back when, during a very bad time in my life and filed bankruptcy on them. I would suggest that you check this out, I informed the gentleman of those specifics and he said he'd annotate the system and send it back to them. The post above is spot on, I've since become an attorney, so please know your rights, and know you will never give away your rights to settle a debt it's a predatory payday loan group.

This is the same meeage I received, except mine was for Sonny Holley. This is the fourth call I have received in the last week for Sonny Holley. The calls have come from various parts of the country.

Keep caliing and leaving a message that I need to call them back. and if not this is my final call and they say good luck in court.  They never say this is an attempt to collect a debt, so I don't know what to do.  When I called them back, I never got anyone.  If this is a scare tactic, it is definitely working.

They called me from this number with the same message as other times. This is an attempt to collect a debt, they use my full name, and say that they are a 3rd party collection agency for a payday cash advance .  I have not done a cash advance in over 7 years. They said that I would be summoned to appear in court for a bad debt. I did not return their computerized call.
This has happened at this time every year with the same basic thing for the past 3 years. I paid them once (thinking that it was legit and that my daughter had used my old account), the second time, I contacted our local DA, and was told that it was a scam and to forget about it. That time they called me back and I told them that I had spoken to the District Attorney, and they said that I should see a different lawyer. I tried to explain to the girl that he was not a lawyer, and she didn't understand what a DA was. Then I told her if they persisted that I would sue them. I just hate these calls and wish that they would be stopped!

Well they seem to be making the calls today. Just got one not 2 min ago. I think it's about time to change my home phone number.

Yes i have today it has to be a scam.. They called asking for my address so they can serve me papers.. Real warrants cops just show up at your house no warning...

the following number 401-223-3260 from Providence RI has called our landline at 730pm for the past week leaving the same sort of message, trying to obtain information to collect a debt. The most of the message is a man or womans voice and a computerized "case number". it is all prerecorded. We had a police officer listen to the message, it is not legit and we were told just try to ignore it. When he tried to track it only received a mailbox is full message. we have been unable to reach a person to obtain any info from them. We did play the message on the air with our local radio station so share the experience and vent our "negative words"

these people gave called me 2x's around the same time.
