got one a few minutes ago, no answer, just music in the background.  got this on my cell phone which bothers me.

Got a call but no answer and no voice mail.??? Tried calling back and no answer??

They said it was a survey.  Wanted to know if I had smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, etc. The call went on and the person claimed they would call back to let me know if I was selected to receive a free security system.  When I asked them to remove my number and that I declined to be included in the survey they hung up.  Scammers!

Got a call on my cell phone, answered and heard music for about 30 seconds, then the caller hung up.

They claim to be from GE Home Security. I immediately reported them to the FCC using the form on their website.

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone. Did not answer. No VM. Strange...

Got a call, no one there. Strange, very, very strange.  Could be the aliens again.  No.  Wait.  They're still in Arizona.  Sorry if I got you riled up.

A person with a foreign accent called wanting me to participate in a survey. The caller wanted to know if I had a smoke alarm,  fire extinguishers and if I was the home owner.
When I called back the number displayed on the caller ID, the message said the number does not exist.
I read other comments and wonder what is the real purpose of the call.
The caller ID showed a supposed location: Warren, RI.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone 2 days ago. I did not answer.  My husband got a call the same day on his cell phone and they said we were selected for something to do with GE. He said he saw we were home owners, my husband lied and said no we rent. Fishy! How did they get both our cell phone numbers? foreign accent too.

Just received a call from 401 310 0123  Caller ID said Rhode Island call.  Played music for 20 seconds, then disconnected.  Call the number back, but said "not a working number".  Strange indeed.  What scares me is that my aol account was just hacked into the day before!!  I wonder why music is played.  Is it so they can keep you on the line long enough to get other information somehow!!!

Foreign accent, definitely calling from a call center. Said it wasn't a sales call, and hung up. Never get sales calls to my cell, which bothers me. I wonder how they got it.

Got a call from this number yesterday but they left no message.  It said the call was from Warren, RI.  Called the number back today and got a message that the number was not in service???

This is caller ID forgery.  The number 401-310-0123 is not actually assigned.  That means it is entirely a scam.

Please do as I have done and write to your congressperson and senators and demand a law that requires all phone companies to reject calls from their customers if the caller ID info from that customer's phone switch does not match a phone number that customer has been assigned and is answering incoming calls for.

I received a phone call from this number and answered it. They hung up within a couple of seconds. I called back and got a recording that said my call could not be completed as dialed, even though I entered it exactly and made sure there was a "1" at the front for long distance. When I researched the number, comments said it was a scam. Other comments along those same lines indicated it had something to do with a GE security "survey" wanting to ask about the alarm system. I have already received 4 or 5 other phone calls from that same company (2 of them hang ups, one a survey, and one trying to sell me an alarm system) so I'm pretty sure this was too. And I already told them in no uncertain terms to put me on their do not call list. Apparently, they ignored me.

Got this on my cell phone this evening. Weird...didn't leave message. Called back since I didn't answer, got a message that ,"Number has been disconnected or no longer in service" Must have been from another planet. 'reckon it was Someone trying to get my attention????? if so it didn't work.
Also if it WAS a Security (Alarm) System call I wouldn't have answered any questions anyway. They can find you and come clean you out if you tell them you don't have an Alarm System!!!. NEVER tell anyone should you Not have a system in your home.

You can turn them in if you have told them to put you on their DO-NOT-CALL LIST. This has been on TV in the past. They can be made to pay up to $500. each time they call should they do so after the 1st one. Write down the date and time of each.

An arab male called from 401-310-0123 and wanted to know if we had fire alarms. "Unknown Name" is on the caller ID with the 401-310-0123 number.

With all the fires breaking out everywhere, I found this unnerving. Hung up on the creep.

What is the process of sending the letter? Do you have a basic template or structure of the letter so more people are able to take the steps of sending in the letters and hopefully get a better chance at getting the issue noticed? ... Also, is there any way to block such calls with unassigned numbers? I have been receiving quite a few. All callers with heavy Indian accents, requesting to speak to an owner of my business. When trying to call back to see the legitimacy of the number, the call does not go through. Clearly scammers who are trying to get me to fall for their scam. I have been just dealing with this issue by just hanging up, but these people are relentless and apparently have nothing better to do with their lives.

My husband received a call from this number on his cell phone. No one spoke when he answered . I received a call from the same number a few minutes later on my cell phone with the same result. Why call someone if you have nothing to say and how did they know both our numbers? The number does not accept calls when you call back.
