401-622-1309

SCAM:    If you receive a call or text from 401-622-1309, do not give out any information.  They say it is from Wells Fargo, but it is a scam to get you ss# and card #.

I just got the same thing. They said it was Wells Fargo but it's not from them. It's a scam.

I tracked this number to Westerly, RI and discovered it was a landline. Then I found the company providing the phone service for 401-622-1309. I called them and reported that one of their business numbers was scamming  people, and they said the number will be shut down immediately. Hooray!

Received a text regarding our "account" with Wells Fargo. Since we have no such account, it was clearly a scam. They need to catch these idiots and throw the book (phone book?) at them.

After I spoke with Level 3 Communications, then I called the Westerly, RI police department to see if there was any chance of actually getting the scammers. They referred me to the Attorney General's office, and when I spoke with them, I encouraged them to contact Level 3 Communications to try and track down the location for that number. Seems like it should be possible since it's a landline, so I hope the AG office goes after them!
