They just called and left a voice mail, which was as follows:
"Connected with an investigator"

Probably related to another frequent number 402-218-4668, which leaves a message from the fraud division.

402-218-4663 called, and left yet another message. This is a new number for these scum balls. They leave a message saying they are from the fraud division district 217. Couldn't hear the person's name. When I called them back with *67, they wouldn't tell me the company name, or their address. I called them about 5 times, with no luck. They hang up every time you try to get any info from them, or start telling them about the numerous laws they are breaking. Report, report, report. That's how we can get these worthless idiots to stop.

Same story as Mike, above.  I received a call from 402-218-4663.  Caller id said 'Fraud Investigation'.  I never answer calls from numbers I don't know.  They left the following voicemail.

"Fraud division, District 217.  I need to hear from you or your retained attorney in the office today. My number is 402-218-4663. In the event that me or the associates in the office do not speak with you I can advise you to govern yourself accordingly and good luck."

"...I can advise you to govern yourself accordingly..."???  What does that even mean?

It sounded like the voicemail started in the middle of the person speaking, so I'm guessing this was a recording.  What I transcribed above was the complete message.   So, no pertinent details at all.  Nothing identifying who they are calling or who I should call back.  They sure are casting a wide net, just hoping to catch anyone.  Ridiculous.

I received a similar call from 614-407-3200 several days ago.  In that voicemail they said "...If I do not hear from you or your retained attorney, I will document that you waive your rights to council and govern yourself accordingly. Good luck."

There's that "govern yourself accordingly" verbiage again.  What a bunch of idiots.

same woman calls me every single day,  using this number and many others...says she is with a fraud company and I need to call her and get an attorney....it is so ludicrous...and harassing....this woman must be desperate....sad.

receive calls daily from woman who says she is with "fraud division, district 217" see above comment from "Bill" I get the same speech on my voicemail.  I have received very similar calls from 612-407-3200.  I also have called back only to get the run around, will not give me information unless I verify my social security number and other personal info.  I do not and will not give out this information.  These calls are annoying and feel it is a scam!

I have recieved the same call that bill and mike described almost daily. I've blocked the number but they can still leave a message even with the block on. I just delete it and keep moving

Same message I received that Bill and Mike described. Add these number to the list (614) 407-3100, (515) 802-4670. It is a standard recording message sent to a wide audience, hoping someone will call back. If you do call back, just say you are the attorney of this person, and they may stop.

I keep receiving the same calls every day.  Exact same verbage as your each time she calls.  How do you get them to stop calling? Very annoying!

This is the scammery-scummery "District 217" scam.  Which is,  of course related to the "govern yourself accordingly" scam.

This number keeps calling me

I get calls 3-4 times per week from this supposed Fraud Division 217.  Always a different number.  I called them back and requested documentation, only to get hung up on.  Oh, they're the FRAUD Division all right.....

I have received the same calls 5 times a week. They are all from different numbers each time. The last call was 6/26 which stated my name was being issued to my local district court. I called them. I was told that I had 3 counts of fraud against me. And that if I dont pay them $1100.00 I would be arrested. These people know my name, address, my employment, and yes ALL of my bank accounts. This has scared me beyond belief. I am afraid to death of being taken out of my work in handcuffs. When I ask for more information concerning this matter, I was told that it was 134 pages and would be forwarded to me after the payment. I am a nervous wreck!! I need help and dont know where to turn.. Any ideas what my next move should be?

I received two calls from 303-951-4719 and to return the call to 720-496-4250 (These are Colorado numbers)...this flagged me as a possible fraud since I've only visited Colorado 1 and it's been over 8 years ago.   Same info.  Fraud DIvision District 217 and my case is going to be 'downloaded' into the system today.  I should call back to determine if I can avoid the allegations....

I too just got the same call and copied message and pasted it here:
Steve yes my name is Steven James I'm calling from the fraud division of district 2:17. I do show that your name and case is now being downloaded in your county to pay for for the litigations. If it is necessary to have you pursue on lynch allegations. We need to hear from you immediately. Preferably before the allegations race. Please contact me or any of my associates immediately at telephone number 720-496-4250.

I have received the same call from a Steven James that left the same voice mail message from fraud division district 217. Spoke to him and said he would stick his neck out for me and lower the payment because I seemed like an outstanding citizen. Glad to know I am not the only one...total scam!

I also received 2 calls from this steven james, and the number he called me from was 404-537-1391 it says its from Ga area. I have never been to Ga. This is a scam right? What are they scamming for? Can it be stopped.

It's a scam do NOT let them get the upperhand in speaking. Tell them you're calling the cops, for threatening you on the phone. Check your states penal code, it's illegal to make threats on the phone.

I have received the same message about 3-4 times a week for the past 4 months all different numbers with the 402 area code. The message states that this is the final attempt to reach me before my case is sent to my local county. In my state we can check any open cases that go through the county courts. and my name is not appearing at all. This is a total scam and do not give them your name, address and what ever you do do not give them your social and even if they read it off to you do not give them any clue that it is you.

Get ahold of your local police department if you feel that some one maybe using your info with out your permission. This will at least give a police report if you have a case of identity theft.

My suggestion is to not answer any of these calls and dont call them back. if you get a voice mail from them just use it as a good laugh. This is what i have been doing.
