Got called 4 times within an hour yesterday. Finally picked up and it was a recording saying something about having my business listed on Google Maps. There was an option to be removed from their list so I selected that but got a new call today from a different number, I didn't answer but according to this site, it's so called "Google" again.

Upon answering, the Robot (a la "Speak and Say" variety) said "press 1 to speak to an authorized representative."

Couldn't be more shady if it tried. Probably a knock off SEO scam.

This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered and further by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line to stop the recording or answer questions. When you do get to an operator, they still further violate the TCPA by hanging up rather than providing a phone number and physical address when asked. This is clearly a scam. Their recording states that they are a Google partner updating Google listings, but Google documents that they do not partner in this manner and they do not collect information through unsolicited telephone calls. Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.

Received a call from 402-260-7422. Caller ID = Nebraska. Since we don't know anyone in Nebraska and don't do business in Nebraska, we did not answer. Of course, no message was left.

We will block this number.

These guys have been calling me about my "Google Business Listing" that they require me to validate- First hit option x to speak with a representative... guy gets on the phone:  Need to verify your google business listing.  I ask Which is the listing you are calling about?  he hangs up.  Shady
