Almost got scammed, but thanks to a discerning spirit, decided to check on the number that was sent to me together with the invoice for a GMC Sierra 2001 for only $1500.  I saw the post above by 'Angry' and am so thankful I didn't go through with it.  They are posing as Ebay customer service!!  Received invoice via email from : ebay@ebay-customers-invoice.com  (very suspect!)

The vehicle was listed on Craigslist and I called.  The 'lady' responded with a text saying she couldn't talk as she was at work, and emailed me back and forth from holly.m.steward12@gmail.com.  She had some sob story about it being her 20 year old son's truck who was killed in an accident 3 months ago.

Had the same thing with the email address holly.m.steward12@gmail.com, except this time she was using the phone number 225-655-6792. She posted a 2001 Ford F-150 for $1,500, and gave my husband the same sob story about her son dying in a car a few months ago on the way to his little brother's birthday party.

My son just got had by this same party.  Guy had heavy accent (the alleged eBay financial representative) AND the woman had the same exact story...only the son that died was 22, the car was a 2001 Lexus AND "she" was going by the name Sandra M. Brown (sandra.m.brown64@gmail.com     814-514-4926).  eBay guy (David supposedly) used the same email address you mentioned and WAS using the same phone number (402-509-7036).  He hung up on my son when he adamantly tried cancelling the transaction and now calls aren't going through.  I suspect he moved on to a new phone and phone number.  Not sure if multiple people are actually even involved OR if it's all the same person.  Regardless, they are a bunch of scammers.  I'm making it my mission to track this joker down though.

Sorry for everyone else who got taken by this fraud!

They still at, sent me an invoice I sent it to Ebay... new scam he (Mickey Cesar) was in the service and was being deployed and needed to sale his 2007 Murano for $2500. even supplied a number of (304) 607-3075 to reach him but couldn't talk right now because he was working.... the number on the invoice +1 (402) 509-7036 you get a man with heavy accent say he is with eBay customer service. Ebay says this is a scam and it goes on all the time.  There should be something that can be done about stuff like this, checking with law enforcement maybe they can catch them. Probably not though.

THIS just happened to me today too, with this exact scenario using this number as supposedly customer support to make it look like a legit eBay invoice.  This was supposedly from a lady as well --probably not-- using the exact same disarming evil tactic, her son dead exactly 3 mos ago, he was killed in a car accident, hit by drunk driver, ridiculously cheap, clean, perfect 2004 F150.  I thought it strange the appearance of the lot the truck was on and felt unsettled that it was too good to be true.  That's a good rule.  Too good to be true.

I researched eBay VPP scams and learned a lot tonight.  And people are so sickening.  To prey on others like predators.  I am sure this scam is successful, it's still going for a reason and there are  many version of it over the net.  I'm embarrassed I even believed it to begin with.

Never buy from eBay on Craigs.lol  Duhh

This guy is a real schister and deserves a pole shoved up his you know what.  I did not get sucked in because he made too many careless mistakes that tipped me off.  For example, ebay would never use an email address as ebay@sales-invoice.com, He's been stealing identities and setting up accounts at large banks.

I feel bad for those  who have been ripped off by him. I am willing to be a witness for those who have lost  money to this SOB.

However, traps have been set for this guy, so I hope he continues because if he does, he's going to the slammer and justice will be served. David, if you are reading this, you should be real nervous. There is a long thick pole waiting for you.

My husband found a 2003 Toyota Tacoma on Craigslist for cheap. When inquiring about it, the woman said her son died 3 months ago when him and his girlfriend were hit and killed by a drunk driver. She was selling the vehicle cheap because it only caused her more pain to keep it. My husband was then told he could pay for it via ebay, the car would be shipped to him and if he wasn't happy with it, he could return it. Shipping would be free. He gave me the # 402-509-7036 (which they said was ebay customer service) to verify it was a legit deal. Thank heavens for this website!! There is a special place in Hell for people running scams like this!.

This web page is doing service to many.  I did not look for it but from now I plan to do a little more homework before committing.  Luckily the scammer made some stupid moves with me and I was able to see right through it

    Pissed,
Your husband can do service by reporting to the bank the accounts that the scammer gave him .  Just go to the local bank and give them the info. The banks are really interested in tracking these people down and giving these bozos the justice they deserve.  They have a better chance of catching this guy than law enforcement in my opinion.  There is a whole branch at these banks that work on these cases in cyber space.  Just curious did this happen to your husband just recently?

She told me the same thing, for a car super new, I was like a dream, this [***] made me dream with the car, It was so perfect but it never happened. When I went to the bank to ask for a loan the banker saw that was a scam. I felt so stupid. I will put them down. She lied to me with the dead son story. What a [***]...
But I will take all that network down , and I already started. They did so much crimes that the police is already looking for them to shut them down.

    # was on invoice to call to make payment.  Was to purchase a 2001 Lexus, same story son died in a car accident 3 months ago on his way to his brothers birthday party.  Was her son's car and it hurt her too much to have it around so wanted to sell it.  The guy said his name was David, with a heavy accent and acted like he was reading from a script. I am embarrassed ... told my sister that things that appear too good to be true usually are.  How true!
