I called it back while blocking my number. I was told  they do fundraising for various charities.   She listed some charities.  Not top tier charities, lesser known ones.   (there were breast cancer charities, kids luekemia charities, and similar that she listed, but not any primary ones)  Possibly ones of questionable money allocation.  I requested to be removed from their list and the woman who answered took my info and said my number will be removed completely, it might take up to 4 weeks.

Don't answer calls I don't recognize number. That's the beauty of Caller ID.

Just got a call from a guy, ask for me by name, told him "he's not here"  caller hung up........

"Breast Cancer Society" called for my mother asking for donations. We've had so many scammers calling here lately, that sadly, we don't give to charities anymore. It's sad that a few scammers have ruined it for the legit charities that call.

Calls from Nebraska on a friday night @ 8:30. They hang up. Seems like if this group was legit they would wait more than 3 rings before hanging up.

We get calls from collection agencies for someone with the same last name, they run in spurts and over the years the "agency" name changes. We also get many of these strange "no answer-hang up" calls from all over the country including neighboring towns. My theory is that these "bottom feeding" agencies have a drawer-full of "Magic Jacks" and/or number spoofing VoIP p/c software and they just call to see if we answer - and when we answer. this gives them information that someone is at the number they have seized upon for their "collection" attempts. they won't take a no he is not here for an answer. Does my theory make sense? I came up with this theory from reading so many comments in posts like this board.

Got a call 9-17-10 11:50 am did not answer,out of state some scam.

We get calls from them all the time and they never say anything. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Received a call on Nov. 1, 2010 at 10:22 AM. I missed the call and they left no message.

Rude lady called from 402-715-9246 claimed to be from Kids Wish Network.    I think its a scam..  Kids Wish Network is a somewhat legitimate charity, but Im pretty sure that this wasnt Kids Wish Network calling.  I would be hesitant to donate to Kids Wish Network because of lack of BBB verification, and supposedly the owners make a LOT of profit, but they are a charity organization.

This number is continually calling my house on a daily basis. I normally ignore callers I don't know; however, I am being called so much by this number, I finally answered last week. They claimed to be from the Kids Wish Foundation. I told them I did not wish to donate anything this year. The calls stopped for a couple of days and have continued again this week. When I was finally annoyed enough to answer again, no one even bothers to say anything. Someone, please shut whoever this is down so I can live in peace.

Received two msgs on my answering machine on Nov. 10 and 19, 2010. Learned about this web site by typing the number (1-402-715-9246) in Google's search box.
I would like to see ALL Americans stop answering their phones personally, unless you expect a call, to force phone banks to spend more money than they take in. Even if you want to answer immediately, you can let your answering machine operate until you recognize a friendly voice.

Got a call from this number AT 10:55am/11-30-10, didn't answer, (caller ID), they never left any message and from what I read, it's a huge scam!
