Robo dialer -- left no message
Caller ID Service Message

when I returned a call got a canned message about debt reduction with the claim of reducing credit card interest rate to 5% or lower according to new Fed Reserve Bank rules.  
Message gave the option of
1) to speak with operator
2) do not call

I pressed one and got an accented voice who identified the company as
Debt Free Life Forever.

877-392-0681 is used as the 'name' or message.  Calling number is - Nebraska-  402-982-0479..

i got this number calling me on my cell phone.  I didn't answer it since I don't know anyone from this area code.  They didn't leave any message.

got call on cell... didn't pick up no message left

Got a call. Pressed 1 and got some Chinese lady. Said I'm not old enough to have a credit card, and she said sorry to bother you and hung up. Scam I'm sure!

got a call from this number a few minutes ago didn't leave a message.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone..  They didn't leave a message.. I'm glad I googled the number and foudn this site.

Received a call a few minutes ago and didn't answer.  They left a message but since it went to my voice mail it started half way in. "6.9%, consider this your final notice about lowering your interest rate.  Press 1 to speak to an operator press 2 to cancel further calls."

This # is a Scam, Scam, Scam   delete,don't talk, ignore!!!

They called me too.  I was wondering what the area code was from and when I looked it up it said Nebraska.  I never answer weird numbers.  Good to see it wasn't just me.

How is it that these companies can still call when you're on the "Do Not Call" list?

The calls begin with a recording that makes a tempting offer to lower your credit-card interest rates.  Then you are switched to a live agent who collects from you the credit card number and its expiration, name, address, and in some cases even your social security number. The telemarketers have no intention of giving consumers better interest rates on their cards and instead use the information to commit identity theft and run up unwanted charges.

They then told me to immediately call 877-703-4246

Just received a call, and I answered on third ring.  The robo dialer was half-way into the message and all I heard was "press 1 to confirm or press 2 to leave a voicemail".  Since I didn't like either option, i hung up.  After reading this site, I'm glad I did.

Called my cell phone also. Did not leave message. My rule of thumb, if I don't know the number and you don't take the time to leave a message....I'm not taking my time to call you back. Simple.  From the posts below...this was a wise choice!  Thanks.

They call me and I just ignore it. Since I didn't know the number. But it's nice I saw this site to find out what it was.

THey called my cell phone as well. I figured it was a scam right away because I don't have ANY credit cards!! So I played along to see how far they would take it. They carried on like I had a credit card that they KNEW for a fact that I had, I got the impression that they were trying to make me think they were with my credit card company ( keep in mind I don't have ANY cards).

I pretended to be interested in wanting to lower my current interest rate. They wanted to know how much I owed on my credit cards, I said I"m not sure, I would have to go through all them to see, and I can't say for sure off the top of my head. Then they wanted to know how many cards I had, and what was the balance on all of them... I told them again, I wasn't sure, I said I have several cards and I don't know what the balance is on any of them, and I can't really tell you which cards I have cause gosh I have so many. Then they went on to ask me to put the phone down and they would WAIT while I went to collect all the cards , I played them even more, I said oh i can't cause you reached me on my cell and I'm out runnning errands so I don't have anything here with me right now.

Then they wanted my personal info, started with asking my name. I went ahead and have them my first name, and when they asked for my last name I made one up. then they wanted my address , birthday and SOCIAL!!   I gave them a fake address , and birthday, and then when he asked for my social I said HEY! Wait a minute, YOU called me! So shouldn't you know my name , address and all that? And why would I have to give you my social???

He then was dumb founded! tripping up over his own words. He said cause I want to offer you this great deal on lowering your credit card interest rates. I then said on what card? again he was tripping on his words, I said sir I DON'T HAVE ANY CREDIT CARDS! I asked how he got my number , and he just sat there in silence, I said do you know what I think? I think you are a fraud trying to gain my personal info so you can then make charges in my name! he said what do you want me to say? I said the truth!


the phone then went silent and the call was gone. I guess he hung up.
I had fun wasting his time and giving them the run around.
