Calls and  calls, ID is, "HIP VIP" might want to tell the older parents about this. HIP VIP is a medicare cancelled service, this group may want to prey on the elderly to pick up payments that are not necessary. Medicare cancelled January 2010.

They just called us. It was an automated survey that my fiance responded to. Afterwards, they said he won a free cruise for doing the survey- yeah right!! They then proceeded to try to ask personal information (first and last name, zip, etc). He finally just hung up

I showed a call on my DIRECT extenstion at my business phone number.  402-982-0538.  I do know people in this area code, but searched my phone for all of them and nothing matched.  This is an Omaha, NE area code.  The caller ID also showed ESTA SOL.  Call came in at almost 5:30pm CST.

Upon picking up my cell phone, "please hold for an important message".  Then there was a claim I would receive 2 free travel tickets.  At that point I hung up.

Picked up the phone and heard a recorded message from a woman telling me to hold for ANOTHER "important" message.... It claimed to be a public opinion poll that would award me a free cruise.  I was like..... uhm, WTF?

    My thoughts were:
    1) I'm on the do not call list.

    and

    2) I HATE CRUISES!!!!

    Request
Prerecorded message saying to please hold the line. Already not a good sign.

Second I heard the boat whistle, I recognized what it was. I decided to wait it out for the removal option, sat through the pitch. No removal option was provided before it hung up. Last I checked, you're legally obligated to provide a removal option in the prerecorded messages.

Tried calling it back, got a fast busy signal, which tells me their system isn't designed to handle call-backs.

Bad design, pitch that reeks of a trap, no removal option, coming off as a horrible approach overall. I'd love to find out who this company is, provide some feedback while asking them to take us off their list. :P

This is the same bunch that keeps calling my business line from 402-982-0538 and from 406-426-3226.  They alternate caller ID's as HIP VIP and Esta Sol, but the pitches are the same.  My advice is if you have call block to put them on it.  If your phone number is on the government DNC list, report them each and every time.  Believe it or not, the government actually does follow up on those reports.  It's been my experience that when all else fails, reporting an annoyingly persistent "survey" (aka scam) caller to the Do Not Call site usually gets it solved in a few days.

I have been getting calls that say ESTA SOL for a year or so.  I think the number changes ocassionally.  Its going to an IVR so I don't know if it is automated or not.  I directed it to my extension so I can see what it is about the next time they call.

    Thanks Kim!
Just registered my complaint for this 402-982-0538 number with the FTC site you provided.

This number calls me every two weeks or so and leaves the boat horn/"take a survey for 2 free cruize ship boarding passes" message, there is no opt out available, and you get an "all circuits busy" message if you call back.   Sounds like a call robot designed to fish data, I doubt anyone actually gets any cruize passes, even if they fill the survey out...
