Caller knew my first and last name and that I had an Eddie Bauer credit card.  He said his name and where he worked (both were probably fake) and went on to tell me that I had an outstanding balance of $50 on my EB account.  And he asked for my bank account number to pay it.  I told him that I just paid my latest statement and I didn't have another statement yet.  He said that I should have one and wanted me to pay this $50.  I refused.  I said I would check my bills and send a cheque in the mail if I had a statement.  I did not have the bill and decided to call him back to find out what the deal was with this.  When I used the number on our caller ID, I got a recording saying "this number is not in use".  Seemed strange to me that it was only 1/2 hour after I got the call.  I will be filing a police report and calling Eddie Bauer to let them know about this.  I've also called my phone company (Telus)and they are looking into it.  They said it came from a Sprint account.

This number keeps calling my child's cell phone.  Asking him his name, his address, how long he's had this number.  I've twice taken the phone from him and told them to stop calling - Monday morning I will be reporting them to Telus security (it IS a Telus number, i've checked that).

It's slimy enough to ask that info from an adult, but a 13 year old child who clearly sounds like a child on the phone??  The last idiot who called told me that they'd keep calling until we provided all of my son's personal information.

I've had 15 calls from this number over the past two years ... I've never answered it.

I just got  acall from this number 60 seconds ago and ran it in Google and found a forum for bogus #'s. Nobody answered when I said hello, but I called it back right away and got the same "this number is not in use" message.

that number called my cellphone 10/20/2007 at 8:58 am and also on oct 15 2007 at 11:50 am

This number has called my business twice today, asking for me by name, and was very rude to my staff.  Every day we get harassment calls on our business phone from various provinces.  Like I say every time... this nonsense needs to stop.  We really need the technology to block calls with the click of a button, and the legislation to deal with this BS.

This number tried to call my cell ph, I didn't answer and there was no message left.  Good thing for google and individuals like us, that this sort of information exists for those who are cautious enough and decide to check into a number before picking up-always. My advice to everyone, do not put phone numbers or any address details on retail store info or anywhere not needed, never know where it ends up. Plus some idiots have way too much time on their hands to repeatedly call numbers unanswered. As if there isn't more important things to do...seriously people like that need to get a real life and a real job!

I think I may be able to shed some light on this.  I've gotten this number several times when friends from Mexico or other countries call me at home.  So, I imagine this is some sort of entry line for international calls.  Reading your posts, it's quite probable that people behinds these scams use people from abroad or manage to appear as international callers in order to not be traced.

Thing is, if I get a call from this number, I still have to pick up since it may be someone I know.

I Phoned Tellus about this number and it is a phone number that Rogers uses to pick up calls coming from any where around the world, my brother called me from overseas using a calling card and this number appeared on my phone

This is the interface dial out number for calls from the internet phone service "Skype"  I just called my number from a Skype line and sure enough - confirmed!!
