This is Rogers Voicemail's phone number. Probably your own vm calling you back when you check messages, and then switch over to another call posibbly.

This phone number has depleted my cell phone account by leaving countless voice mails. I NEVER got any. Rogers Phone tells me that if I do not answer phone, it goes to voice mail and it costs money. NO MORE. I asked Rogers to disable my voicemail.

I phoned this number and there was no answer.

The person/party who is doing this should be lynched!

maybe you have call forwarding on and are not subscribed to a call forwarding plan. when the voice-mail calls you back it goes to voice mail an you get charged for however long it stays on voice-mail. just a thought.

I had numerous calls from 403-714-1142. I have just spoke with Rogers security department. They have stated that this number is a Rogers generic telephone number, associated with your own cell phone in certain areas of Alberta. It is NOT a real telephone number. The person that did call you, just hung up without leaving a message, but you still get charged and their number is not recorded on your bill. I hope that helps many of you, I guess the only answer is to disconnect voice mail.

I recieved a charge for this number of $47.19. When I contacted Rogers about it they tod me that it was a forwarded call and reversed some of the charges. They even asked if my phone had dialed out while in my pocket. I have a flip phone it is impossible to make a call with the phone closed. They reimbursed me for half the charges. I too did not have any voicemail messages and I don't believe you can leave a 2 hour long message as that is how long the call lasted.

This calling has depleted my account too. It's nuts. If there's no message, there should be no charge. I don't know why Rogers can't put an end to it, one way or another.

It's not voicemail. She said after taking a long time, that it was a call forward number. I call forwarded a call to that number. She said voicemail is limited to 3 minutes, it could not rack up such a charge. I asked if the call forwarding was my phone's software, or something with rogers. She implied it was both.
I asked her to kindly disable call forwarding, and she said she was able to from her end. I'm not entirely sure it wasn't some crazy software I played with, but fortunately I only had 12$ on my account to lose.
Hopefully I wont see this charge again.

My account was depleted by the same phone number. Called Rogers, told me that they charge even if I miss a call and there is no actual voicemail message left on my phone. I need my voicemail, therefore I switched to Bell - free voicemail check if you call from another phone (i.e. internet) and no scams (fraud) like with Rogers. Rogers can shove their expensive prepaid plan plans up its ars. They should know there are alternative for their illegal practices.

I got countless charges for this number.  I rarely use my cell phone so don't have a lot of money down on my prepaid, but it took everything I had in it, until I was notified about the minimum balance and top-up requirement.  Has this only started happening since they changed their system over?

I get charged for LOTS of these calls - even when my phone is shut off (as it is most of the time). NO voice mails are ever received (or even left for me???). These charges amounted to 34% of my total charges in the last 60 days!!!

I spent several weeks in Europe and just returned back. My cell was turned off during that time and now I see 12 "Voicemail received" entries on my rogers call history (one after the other). All of them are assotiated with this number and rogers charged $0.25 for each one. I do not need to mention that there was no voicemail on my cellphone. I am trying to cancel the default call forward option in my cell (Settings/ Call Forward/ Voice Calls/ If Unavailable/ To:+14037141142 !!!). It is returning back with the message "Request Not Successful" so what can I say? I am angry because this is a fraud!!

My second phone which was a prepaid one got lost for over 15 days, when i checked my call history, I was shocked to see this number calls from January to March almost three or four times a day. Since my wife uses this phone for emergency calls, she never noticed it and so do I. I'm very angry with Rogers, I hope to talk to them when they return back after the long weekend

On recent bill noted number left as voice message 7 times within several minutes to the tune of $1.50. Not as much as some people but called Rogers and they gave me the credit and voice mail was dis -activated.
People should keep posting as no doubt it is an ongoing problem which Rogers should fix by blocking this number.

Thanks to the others who wrote as this made it simple to explain to Rogers rep.

OMG so glad to fine out what is going on and yes it seems that Rogers is corrupt by doing this.  The number 403-714-1142 keeps showing up and using my pre-paid minutes at 40 cents a call.  I do not have voicemail messages and can see this is how Rogers keeps customers buying more time because they are using my minutes.  Damn you Rogers
