- ohmyheck| 1 replyI just got this call. It came from "Unknown" instead of "Private"....which means I can't block them. Thanks for reporting it here, so I won't call back. Fake robotic female voice. Said she was calling for the IRS. For anyone who returned the call, would you please comment on what actually happened when you did. Thanks
- Caller: IRS
- carolA robotic woman's voice states I am being sued by the IRS service and I need to call this number , on my caller ID it all that came on was the number 1
- Caller: IRS Service
- janWoman calls and says I am being sued by the IRS and I need to call this number. call came over as out of area, out of area.
- Caller: out of area

- cbI got the same call....turned around and called back on land line...they answered, sounded like a call center, I asked his name and badge number...her rattled off one very quick. I then, told him to send me paperwork to prove credentials, never heard a phone hang up so quick.
- Caller: IRS
- Brittanymy dad got the call and before he called back for the hell of it I looked up the number to come here. So my dad called back and didn't get anyone, it saying "The person you are trying to contact is currently unavailable" but left a voice mail saying "He knows what they're up to and is calling the IRS to report them." It's a scam cause one my dad said he just got a bill he had to pay next week and two, they wouldn't be telling him he was being sued by the IRS over the phone but would send a notice in the mail.
- Terri| 1 replyMessage text as recorded on my machine by an automated robot call. "Hello, this call is officially a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about the case file please call immediately on our department #404-418-6621. I repeat 404-418-6621. Thank you.
First red flag - the IRS has real people call you to arrange a meeting.
Second red flag - When the IRS has called me in the past, my caller ID listed it definitely as Internal Revenue Service and it showed the phone number of the caller. When I received a message, they clearly stated the person and business name they were trying to contact, the case number, the specific agent in charge of the case, the verifiable IRS phone number, and hours of operation. The number 404-418-6621 does not show on caller ID -- it only reads UNKNOWN CALLER. The only time this happens on my service is if the person on the other end has blocked their information.
Third red flag - IRS will identify as a specific state IRS or Federal IRS and the city where they are located.
Fourth red flag - When I received a message from the real IRS, I have been given the first name and agent number of the caller; along with other vital identifying information. They also give the year of the return, along with the quarter of the year, the specific form number that has a problem, etc.
Fifth red flag - After having payments to IRS lost in the mail, every IRS document we file is handled online with a receipt. I would have received an e-mail stating that I missed a payment.

- I M WearyIRS wants to sue me. The call was from 404-418-6621
- scz replies to TerriThe IRS will NEVER call you without having first established communication through the mail regarding a specific matter.
Total scam - TASame scam. I called back before I got here. The person was unavailable. I left a message that if it was a scam I would report them to the IRS. Then I made a bad and left my cell number. If they call, after reading this, I'll know what to tell them. Also, I pay my taxes, so I was especially surprised. Too bad the IRS doesn't follow up and shut them down.
