- Suspicious in Havasu| 1 replyWe received a call today from a woman claiming to be from a department in Georgia, allegedly dealing with juveniles. She knew the names of everyone in our home and wanted to know if we knew a Robert Sean H*****, who would be a second-removed relative. We just told her that we did not and ended the phone call. I have no idea if the call was legitimate or not, but I am somewhat suspicious.

- Sammie Carlile| 1 replyThe call was quick and easy. I didnt know a warrant was about to be put out for my arrest.
- MarleauA woman called my house looking for me at first, then looking for a my friend of mine saying there is a warrant out for his arrest. I told her to [***] and told my friend what happened.

- Concerned Citizen| 2 repliesI was called concerning one of my family members. The caller leaned towards being affiliated with Fulton Co Sheriff's Dept. I did a reverse 411 on her, and then she admitted she was from Americollect. This was a debt collector. She told me enough to scare me, then refused to comment any further. I had my family member call her back and she said there was a warrant for his arrest. Very poorly handled. She wanted my debit card number (it was o.k. to talk to me when it came to money) I refused to give her any information. My family member and I made the trip to Atlanta Municipal Court. There, we found out that this family member really owed this bill. We were treated like criminals. This was from a ticket 2 1/2 years ago. We paid it immediatly. I don't appreciate the way it was handled on the bill collector's end at first. And Atl MC was a joke, run VERY poorly. VERY unprofession from everyone that we talked to. We took care of everything and hopefully won't hear from these unprofessional people again.

- LAMET replies to Sammie CarlileIt's illegal to threaten arrest for debt, you cannot be arrested for debt!
Do not give them any account info - it's a scam.
Report them to your police dept.. - lamet replies to Concerned Citizen| 1 replythe collector violated federal law
- John replies to lametI receive a similar call this morning. They told me that I'd have a warrant issued if I didn't pay today. I did owe a fine dating back 8 years. My question is simple, can a collection agency that collects for a court issue a warrant or make a recommendation to have a warrant issued?
- T GonsalvesMs. Feilds called me the day before yesterday from 404-564-3639 asking me about my boyfriend who is currently incarcerated and said that he had a warrant out for his arrest from a 2/2008 probation fee that he owed, but she didn't not tell me that she was a collection agency. She said she was a clerk at the Fulton County Jail and was trying to find out the whereabouts of my boyfriend because he had a warrant for his arrest and she wanted me to take care of the bill. I told her no that she could find him at the Dekalb County Jail. She hung up and called back and left the client id and citation number on my voicemail for me to pay the bill. Very poorly handled. She should have known he was incarcerated if she works for the county. All she had to do was do her research and she would have seen that he had been in there since 9/2008.

- ConcernedI received a call from this number looking for someone else. I became suspicious because I havent had this number one full month & they already know MY name. The person I returned the call to kept asking me now who did I say I was looking for? Needless to say, I didn't know the person they claimed to be looking for who supposedly has a warrant out for their arrest.

- James MercierReceived a voice message 4/19 from a Agent Donna Smith. Claimed she was from the City of Atlanta Municipal Court. She said I had a summons and I needed to contact immediately because she had to take action on it. I checked the web and found these notations. Also checked the City of Atlanta Municipal Court - different phone number.

- MayA message was left on my phone for the family member which the agency was trying to contact. The message stated he was Agent KC Hill from the Municipal Court of the City of Atlanta. He stated that my name was given as a responsible person for the individual he was trying to reach. He told me the claim could be resolved if anyone of us gave him a card with a Visa or Mastercard logo. I was a little skeptical when I asked him if he had spoken with this person today ( as I had called the person and given them the number to call him back) he sort of choked and said he had spoken with the person last week but did not get all the details he needed. I knew this was untrue because the individual he was trying to contact did not mention that they had spoken to anyone about this matter. In fact, the individual told me that they had taken care of the matter in which agent Hill claimed he had to contact this individual today or else the warrant would be re-issued. Shame on him.

- Kathy H.We recieved a call from Ameridebt, asking if we knew where dead brother's son was? Think is we have not heard from him or his mother since the death of my brother., they told us that he had been charged with driving in wrong lane in Atlanta, GA. We live in NC, the death of my brother was hard on us and still is, we do not need bogus calls concerning his son. These people: regardless of what that person owes, should not involve families members with seeking these people out. If you need to take them to court then take them. AND LEAVE US OUT OF IT!!!, THAT'S HOW PEOPLE SUED!!!

- Irritated WomanReceived a call from the same KC Hill as stated above. Again saying that he was an Agent of the City of Atlanta Municiple Court. Said he was looking for a relative. Evidently, a man with a similar name to my husband has numerous outstanding debts and we have received a variety of calls looking for him. Not even returning the call.

- Ridiculous| 1 replyJust received a call from these losers. They pretended to be from City of Atlanta, GA, Municipal Court, told me I was about to have a warrant issued, and wanted to know if I would pay and avoid the hassle. I knew it to be fraud, so I hung up. They called back, and read to me my full name, mailing address and employment history! They again threatened me with a warrant, and suggested I give them my credit card number. I hung up, they called back a third time, told me my date of birth, and told me how much of a good idea it was for me to take care of this with a credit card.
