this number called me yesterday. i called them back today to see who it was and they knew my name before i even said anything.... sounds a bit fishy to me.. they did not even introduce themselves on the phone they just said "hello jonathan"

It's cars.com.  I filled out an auto loan request on their site and it's a follow up call or survey in regards to that request.

I want this phone number to stop calling me and the surveys that they are pulling.  They say it's a survey.  The person hung up in my ear when I asked to stop calling and the lady won't tell me who or what company she's calling from.

My daughter answered a call from this number because the caller id listed the name of a relative. They asked to speak to me and she said hold on but they had hung up when I took the phone.  Very strange and how can you trick a caller id?  VERY suspicious.

Tricking caller id is very easy to do these days

They call and won't leave a message.  If you call them back from the number which you received the call, they will answer "hello (and then your first name).  IF you call from a different number it is only music that answers.  Absolutely crazy.

Correction:  The number is registered to www.car.com.  I contacted Cars.com and they investigated and indicated that it is coming from www.car.com

don't know who these people are but they never leave a message, wish they would stop calling, very aggreviating.

cars.com can also get your info from lenders such as lendingtree.com, eloan.com, etc.  If you're in the market for an auto loan, then this may be why they are calling.

Anyway to block this number? They are calling my phone several times.

Got the same routine of calling the number back and being hung up on.  Finally spoke to a guy named Kyle who said he was the supervisor.  Offered me a credit repair kit from Lexington Law and said he would remove me from the list. Hope this helps.

I received two calls in the same afternoon from this number. I'm thinking it's a result from LendingTree too. I also receive text messages. This is annoying. Unfortunately it seems to happen on a regular basis. Wish we had a do-not-call list for cell phones. AT&T does not block numbers. I've asked in the past. Guess caller ID is the best we can have.

An update to the blocking of the phone number.. I have a Samsung phone that allows me to put the number on a Reject List so they no longer can use that number to contact me. Sweet.
