- JULIE| 2 repliesCaller was rude, said he was a deputy, also said I owed a payday loan, that has already been paid, and that he was issuing a warrant--I told him it was paid, he said it wasn't, or he wouldn't be calling...and he hung up--I called back, asked his name, and the name of his company, he told me none of my business, and hung up.
- Caller: ,
- NAI can guarantee he is no deputy. No law enforcement agent would fail to identify oneself or what department he works for, another payday loan scammer posing as an officer of the law. Also no law enforcement is going to get involved with a payday loan
- cma agree he is no deputy. I have talk to a deputy after receiving one of these calls. He informed me that you will not be arrested for payday loans no matter if it was started with a checking account. They are considered loans the only way they can get you is through small claims court
- receiverofunwantedcallsDon't take idle threats from these guys.....they are full of it. Something about payday loans back in 2006.The loan was satisfied, brrowed $200.00, received over 1500.00, Wow want a interest rate. Closed bank account to keep them from getting anymore. Its 2013 and still wants more. This is a bunch of crock. Never do a internet payday loan.

Heehee, my boyfriend is the Chief of Police!!! I told this man not to call me again and he told me "He would call every minute of the day if he chose too and nothing I could do about it" I told him again to stop calling and he said "keep my family close because he would start calling them as well until I paid him" I am reporting this number to the BBB but when you research this number I get no results, does anyone know who these "IDIOTS" are? - Lady| 1 replyI have gotten calls from this number (a recording) telling me that there has been an item returned on my bank account (haven't had one in years). Got this all for weeks until I finally called back and spoke with a rude "Investigator Terry". Harssaed me to no end, threatened me with warrants, jail, fines and penalties. But couldn't give me any information other than info he could have easily got from any number of the social networking sites I'm on. I did goggle the bank name that he gave me and it came up in India. Yeah okay...smh. Fraud, scammers...don't give them nothing. Number also associated with 678-648-7588. When I called either one of those numbers I got the same person. These people are crazy. Finally had these numbers blocked and my line is much quieter! It is fun to call and harass him though. He doesn't like it very much. He deserves it though. Jerk!

- Alfalfa replies to LadyThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

- Joseph CullyAbout 2 years ago, I took out a payday loan over the internet. The loan was paid in full as agreed. The first time that they put the loan through, it bounced. I made arrangements and paid it in full. I got a call from somebody. They sounded foreign, like Middle Eastern or Indian, and had a strange area code that I didn't understand. They said that my bank debit had not gone through, and they were threatening me with a law suit, criminal prosecution through the DA, and bad credit, etc. I had to fill out a form, with my debit card information, and send it back to them. I got a similar call from somebody else. I assumed it was from a payday loan that didn't get paid. I did the same thing with them. I noticed on my bank statement that double money had been taken out. There were two charges that did not add up. I called the payday loan company and told them what happened. They said that they had gotten their money, and told me it was a scam going on, and to report it to the police department. I went to my bank, and they credited me for the two transactions, which were over $1,000. Since then, I and my contacts have been called by these people, threatening legal action. My boss was called. I told him about the scam and to ignore it. I have received several calls from this number, talking about an unpaid item, a file number, etc. I will just ignore them. I checked the internet, and they are out of Atlanta, Georgis. I have gotten similar calls from some place out of Texas, a law firm, about the same matter. I just hang up on them and say, "this is a scam."
- mike| 1 replyIf you get a call from 404-665-3107, them saying they are calling about a debt. This is a scam.. You should call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-438-4338. File a report about them. Try to get as much information as you can even if you have to call them back.

- Becca replies to BeccaNever received a letter for debt validation. Received another call yesterday asking if I every got the letter. Was suppose to send another letter out today via email and should have not later than 11:00 AM EST. I have yet to received the letter. When I called to inquiry and asked for a Mr. Parker a very rude gentleman asked why I was calling from a blocked number. Mr. Parker never answers the phone when I am transferred but the background noise seems to me that someone is listening in the background when the voice mail is on.
SCAM... - TraceyGot a call at work from 404-665-3107. Spoke to two people and was told that this was a MyCashNow loan from 2009-10. I know for certain any loan I had from then was paid in full and I have all the records to prove it because I had a scam back then from a group from India. This guy was African American and when I said I would have my lawyer get back to him, he said "If you can pay a lawyer, just pay us" Ha ha ha. Laughable.
