scammers called; didn't answer it and blocked this number from future calling.

I believe it's Portfolio Recovery trying to use a different number to try and catch people off guard.

I'm on the list of PRA (Portfolio Recovery Associates), so this could indeed be them.  "Trying to us *a* different number," HAH... they use ZILLIONS of different numbers.

I recently switched to a google voice number.  After they call you can save the number to your google phone book and block it so when they call they get the "This number has been disconnected" message.  Your phone won't ring when they call and they can't leave a message.

Debt collectors who buy ancient uncollectable debt for pennies on the dollar betting they can eek a percentage of the amount out of people to "settle" the debt they don't actually need to pay at all.

There are many fraudulent phone callers.  You need to be careful about this phone number. If you get any call from the phone this number do not answer. The person or caller from this number is a scammer. If the person demands anything from you, then do not give attention.  Unfortunately, there are many thieves and con-artists who make their living taking advantage of people who trust others.

Called my landline today, April 17th 2018 and CID diplayed SPAM? Portfolio 404-889-8269 and no VM was left. Since no VM was left,  the call wasn't important.

Has called using 3 different numbers:  951-777-2993 on 6-16-18,  404-476-3987  on 6-24-18, and 404-889-8269 on 6-26-18.  None of the calls have left a message.  None of the numbers have called a second time.

It’s portfolio Recovery calling from a different number I don’t owe them anything. They keep calling me about a old account that’s been paid off.
