Received call to my cell phone three times yesterday. They did not leave a message on any of the attempts.

It's Portfolio Recovery, a notorious outfit profiting from dubious debt collection.

Portfolio Recovery Associates.  Bottom-feeder debt buyers.  Funny thing is, they already sued me.  I guess they don't think they can win.

They never leave messages when they call.   I just answer the phone and let them say "hello...hello...hello..."  :)    I am paying my debts and it's not through them!!!

Number blocked. Problem solved.

I hope your call blocking software/system can block unlimited numbers. This outfit seems to come up with two new numbers for every one blocked.

Yet another call from another fool who thinks I'm going to answer your calls anymore... Portfolio Recovery, wait until the third class action lawsuit comes in, my name's attached to the large roster... this is phone number #258, if my records are correct, and the 19th time you've called my office this morning since 10am PT, and it's now 10:28...

They call and don't leave a message, and they are calling my office phone now not leaving messages I spoke with them about not calling my business phone but here they are still calling.  Then sometimes they call and hang up before I can even answer.

I've sent Portfolio a couple of C&Ds. They won't stop calling. They're looking for the person who had my number 15 years ago but just refuse to believe I'm not that person. I don't know what else to do, and it would be a huge pain to change my number at this point. I'll be consulting with an attorney to see what my next move should be.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Portfolio Recovery  is the scummiest people around.  Do not answer - block caller...................For those of you that owe monies please do not pay these [***].  They bought into this low life business they can go F themselves.

How stupid are these people?  They have an arsenal of numbers that I guess they feel will somehow get thru. It's 2015 you fools and technology trumps every attempt you make. These goobers bought several thousand dollars of my debt and will never recover a dime. It's kind of like Karma takes care of people who choose a career of harassing people.

I am not sure, why I am being harassed, my husband recently passed away, and I am not responsible for any of his debts, also considered low income, and also phone number is unlisted.  they do not leave a message but do call, only recently.
 my number had to be changed due to id theft, and therefore, was listed as non published. due to the nature of my husbands death, I will not disclose any information to anyone.

Called, I had another line active, and asked them to hold. Whoever was on the other line said "F-off!" and hung up.

Time to file complaints. Debt collectors cannot use vile language (especially when I know what aren't calling for me)

These people are bottom feeders, buying very old debt for pennies and expect you will pay.  They do not have any original documents from who they are collecting for so if they cannot prove to you that you owe an ole debt....do not answer.  There are time limitations on debts and check your state.  They claim I have a Capitol one credit card balance from 20 years ago?  I have never had a Capitol one account but they keep calling.  My next complaint is going to FCC for harassment of something I do not owe, I pay my bills and do not appreciate they never leave a number to call them or for that matter they never leave messages.  I spoke to them one time and asked for proof of owing this debt.  They have not provided anything to me and this was 2 years ago.  Now they are starting to call again and again!  Sick of this and if it keeps up...they are going to have to pay me!

They already have an 83 million dollar judgment against them for harassing the wrong debtor. If it is upheld in Appeals, this may very well be the end of PRA as we know it.
