Called and stated that I had A claim Against me for check fraud And stated his name was agent Deon. I needed to make arangments to pay his client and they are getting agrivated and they were going to take me to court. Aslo stated a  file number. they called once before from a diffrent number and wouldt state any valid info about the claim. Just stated I owed a cash company money and wouldnt state who.

They have called me at work stating, I have a check fraud invetigation. I don't know who these people are and if they are legit the agents name was Agent Afari.

I received the same call.

Got the same call from an agent Smith.

You are being reported to the Attorney General ASAP!!! Get lost & stop calling me

I received the same call from Agent Afari.  When I asked for confirmation of the collection, she said a separate department was in charge of faxing the documents.  the next day i called her and she said she had 'missed a digit in the date' (typo) and that would mean another delay.  I called again today (day 3) and she told me the documents had been faxed (when they had not).  Until they provide you with proof of who's requesting the collection, do NOT give these people any money.   By law, you have the right to request documentation of the collection attempt, and any legitimate collection agency would have LONG SINCE contacted you via mail (before the phone calls started).

I have called the number and I do not get anyone. Just a message. I also left the message and called the JAG (Judge Advocate General) on Base and reported them too.

I also got a call from 404-935-9447 from Agent Afari cas number Delta Sam Sam 134363.
Check fraud............... called at work and came thru our ACD line to a co-worker.
When is someone going to get these people.

11-29-11 - Received a phone call from an Agent Afari, who said she worked for a Dorothy Thornton & Associates.  She said that I co-signed a note for $900 with an Advance America Payday Loan, that my daughter had gotten.  I asked her for her phone number which was 404-935-9447.  She even gave me a case number and said I was getting a court order in the mail.  Since my daughter is a paralegal she laughed and called Agent Afari back.  Agent Afari could not confirm my daughters social security number and said she was sorry that she got the wrong person.  APPARENTLY THIS AGENCY WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO COLLECT FROM PARENTS WHO ARE UNAWARE.  TRY TO SCARE THEM WITH COURT ACTIONS OR JAIL TO COLLECT THE MONIES THEY CLAIM ARE OWED.  Don't let this bogus type call scare you with threats that are unlawful and definitely DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER OUT TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW.

I just got the same call from Agent Afari, from the about phone number at work no less... Claiming check fraud notification and referenced a case number... And stating that I need to fax a letter of intent... I know this is all BS... But someone has got to get these people...
