Fortunately I missed this call. Obviously the do not call list is not working.

I picked up after one ring. No one on the line, call ended immediately.

Had tried to call number back on another phone, but got no connection. Tried one more time after leaving the message above, and this time got a recorded reply saying I had "recently visited one of their affiliate's websites and so was eligible for a $100 rebate gift card. Press 1 to get the card, or 2 to go on their do-not-call-list." Pressed 2, lol, but the joke's on me because returning their call gets you nowhere, but calling from a different number gets you the recording, so I'll probably hear from these jerks again.

Signed up for Spirit Airlines to check a fare today so maybe that's what it was related to?  Rang twice and hung up

This number called my cell phone, which is on the national do not call,  list. They hung up.

This is a scam.  No reputable company would use the tactics that these people are using.

They are dialing as many phone numbers as they can and then disconnecting before you pick up (unless you're quick but they still hang up).  This prevents them from paying phone charges as they never actually complete a call (and technically they never contacted you so your Do Not Call list is useless).  In the meantime, many people will call them back (paying the phone bill for the scammers) just to hear the recording.  Enough of THOSE people take the bait to make this worthwhile.  The rest of us just get annoying phone calls.

The phone companies need to disconnect service from these "businesses", but it's not profitable to provide a public service like this so they never will.

Rang 1 1/2 times 10:43 pm ET.  Nobody there.

I picked up the phone and they asked if I was a homeowner and if I was that I could save money on my electric bill,because the electric bills are going up by 40%,,they said if I was a homeowner that I would qualify for a program from the government to save money on my electric bill,,thats it it was a recording and I hung up after listening to the voice message..
