Called me about verifying information for magazine subscriptions trying to prevent other companies from getting my business. When I told him I didn't want to give my information out he became confrontational and argumentative over the phone and hung up on me.

This is a scam.  Tried to tell me that I have a subscription and tried to convince me that I owed them $300.  I said send me a bill and we can have my lawyer settle it.  The said that they could lower it to $16/ month if paid by CC.  I said I never signed up.  He said I could not cancel.  We will see... SCAM

This is one call I'm glad I missed. I've gotten calls every day for the past two weeks from people acting like they're sending me magazines. I haven't subscribed to a magazine since I cancelled "Boys Life", about forty years ago. They always promise to take my name off the list. 'Must be quite a few copies of that list floating around.

I have been receiving the ridiculus MAXIM magizines and dont't have a clue why. This number calls and says they want to confirm info for subscription and I respond with "I am not subscribed to a magizine" and they hang up before I can ask any questions. I am a man of God and would never order that pornagraphic magizine and I want to talk to this company about how awful this looks coming to my po box. If you call back there's a recording telling you to press 1 to be removed from the calling list but no other option. I want to know how to stop this definitely!

They did the same to me.  Would not shut up.  No company name, asked for personal info, saying credit cards were being charged, blah blah blah.  Kept saying he would call back until I gave him the info.  These are unconvicted felons IMO.

So I got this call, no real message left but there was someone there with background noise, sounded like a call center. I decided to look it up and came across all these responses to this number.
Now I do have a Maxim subscription but if they are calling to get more info from me that's not gonna happen. I just hope they don't try to say I owe them more than my subscription fee or else I'm gonna try to hurt their feelings.

For three weeks I have been receiving calls from "UNKNOWN NUMBER" to my cell phone.  Thet would ask for "Robin Upchurch".  When I said no one here by that name, the caller immediately hung-up.

Today, for the first time the number 406-351-4048 appeared.  Again, call center type background noise.  Again I explained "no Robin Upchurch"

I just got a call from these people today, saying it was Dave from the credit department.  I was bewildered given that I have no magazine subscriptions.  My first thought was that someone had stolen my identity and opened up a line of credit, but I thought it was kinda silly to start a magazine subscription with a stolen identity.  So, I asked them what their company name was and the guy responded "Magazine Connection".  Fortunately, I was sitting in front of my computer and googled that name, and this website came up as the first result.  Glad it did.

They are one of a thousand different names and numbers tricking people into thinking they handle a persons particular magazine subscription.

My Mother was fooled and was charged 150% of what it cost dealing directly with the magazine. They can charge you for multiple year subscriptions and also mysterious charges for "saving or other clubs"

My mom was elderly and they tricked her into giving checking account number to pay for a magazine she already had a couple of years left on the subscription.

Over the years all these Mag Sub services have repeatedly called and mailed phony deceptive renewal letters.

Bottom line, they are utter scam artists!

Same as above mostly, except we paid for the mags with check and he was saying our CC would have a monthly reoccuring charge.  Asked to speak to Accounting and he said he needed additional personnel information to process this because it was a automated system.  When I refused further info, and demanded to talk to his supervisor or accounting office, HE HUNG UP!  SCAM verified through Maxim Magazine from there HQs accounting department. Here is Maxim Official Business address:

Just got a call from this number: A "Willie Banks" told me I needed to pay for "my magazine subscriptions to Maxim, ESPN, Sports Illustrated". I told him I never ordered any magazines. He said he would turn it over to a debt collection agency. I asked him for his name again, this time he said he was "Willie Mitchell". I screamed and yelled at this a**hole, called him every name in the book. He hung up. Tomorrow I call the Kansas Attorney General's office to report these jerks.

This 1st happened to me in August of this year and yes I got suckered by these con-artists, posers, trying to be a magazine company! They called my cell number and said I was entered in a sweepstakes to have a chance to win a gold watch and would receive some magazines with the cost of $68 and a membership charge of $29.99. Sure enough I didn't anything from them until late October (2 months later).

Then these assclowns ripped into my account and pinched me for another $39.95! WTF?!?! Then they kept calling trying to pinch me for more money and I asked them to take me off thir list and sent me to customer service and if I called them they would charge me much more money. I hung up on these [***]!

These bozos have consistently have been calling my cell telling me they want an additional $39.99 for renew some magazines. And now they're trying to get my card info to privatize their number from calling again and they just called my house! They can keep calling all they want to but they aren't getting one red penny from me!

The company is supposedly called NRS (National Reader's Subscription) or something like that.

    Scam artist [***]!

Same story as pretty much everyone else.  Guy called and said he worked for the company that services my magazines and wanted to lower my payments. Except I don't get any magazines. I hung up and he called back 3 more times which I let go to voicemail. The thing I don't get is I have all my numbers registered on the national do not call list. How is it these companies can get away with this when they are obviously telemarketers.
