I received an email stating that Marvin Markusun, Regional Manager, would like to give me a real estate referral and that I should call this number. I shall not do that, but instead, I shall click to unsubscribe.

I got a call at my brokerage with a message for me to call Marvin at 406.523.5583 and that he has a referral that he needs help with. I didn't call.

I got a call from Marvin today as well, sounded phony the second I played his message. Plus I am a Canadian and generally when an agent calls for a referral they leave the name of their brokerage. I obviously didn't call.

I received a similar message today.  Obviously I had the same concerns because there was no last name or company name given.  I will not call either.

    Hello all,

Well, I received a call a moment ago from this man, and at first I wasn't going to call him back, but then I decided why not.  Other than a couple cents long distance what's the worst that could happen.  There was no answer so I was forwarded to his machine, which just states his first and last names...no company name.  Seems sketchy but oh well, no one answered so I guess that's it.  :)  has anyone actually answered when he called?

Yes, I also got a voicemail from Marvin, didn't give his company name. Says he has a buyer that's pre approved , but sounded so phoney, when I called back, just got his voicemail.  Voicemail did not state his brokerage company name.

I received the following email today. October 25th, 2013.   Sounds fishy so I googled the number and up came  this site.

    Carol,

My name is Lily and I just had Mary call my office for information about properties in Wasaga Beach County.  Since I'm looking for someone closer and better suited to help I thought I would email you.  My team took the call to find out if they are serious and looking to do something fairly soon.  I'd like to get this out to you right away, can you call me as soon as possible? You can contact me at 406-532-5583.

    Thanks,

    Lily Sims

Got an email from Lily Sims.  I thought it was legit until I actually spoke to Lily.  It sounded like she was reading from a script and I couldn't tell what the company name was, but I really didn't care cause after I listened to her script I said "so what you're saying is I need to pay you for this lead". She said yes and I told her Ive got to go.  She tried to down "other" lead generation sites when there's no doubt that's where she found me!

I signed up with this company a couple months ago.  Apparently the emails are a marketing tactic used in order to contact more of us at a time.  I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but it's actually going really well.  They're sending me real buyers and sellers for once.

But to the other reviewers on here... you got an email.  big deal.  It's called an email campaign, not the end of the world.  it's a tool to place customers that they have quicker by establishing contact with more agents than they normally would by manually calling everyone, so the leads turn out better.  and guess what, it works.  not that anyone here would know; apparently you would rather sit and complain about it.

And yes, Sheryl, you do have to pay for (good) leads.  Scary!

I received this call as well, I am a Realtor in Nova Scotia, they claim to have leads, you could hear in the background that its a call centre and the message was not professional at all.

I just received an email from Lily Sims on this number. No professional business name, no specific areas to my region of providing real estate services here, nothing. Bogus and unlikely --will not call this number. Too many scammers out there.

I called the number and there was an answering machine.  I have received similar calls from the Montana area and they are all lead generation sales calls.... SCAM!

Clearly you are employed with this company!
We are all aware of email campaigns... I use them all the time; however, I do not use them to try and deceive people with a clever pitch and fictional clients.
Additionally, the emails began only after many. many annoying phone calls from this same phone number, so yeah, I am sick of this (your) company bothering me when I have already asked that they (you) stop contacting me!
