Happened to me just now, too.

they have called me 3 times today and haven't responded when I say hello

Called three times today, left one vm with 3 seconds of silence, no answer when picked up. Grr.

Called them back. The messages says "Thank you for your call. Please press 1 to be added to our DO NOT call list. Please note it can take up to 30 days for your request to be processed." And then it disconnects. Real helpful there.

Did respond right away when I answered.  I only heard that it was some nation wide survey before I hung upo n them.

Pretty much the same scenario. They've called 3 times and have never acknowledged my answering the call. Annoying. Will not call back which could be a scam to clone cell phones.

Our phone services (and especially our land lines) are under assault by a new breed of invasive, nuisance phone calls being spawned by a new kind of marketeer who doesn't give a damn about us or our privacy.
Please keep a record of this abusive activity and register your complaints with your phone company.
If the phone companies and carriers won't do anything to stop this, our only choice will be to get our phone services some other way.

Political survey.  Asked me who I planned to vote for in the national and state elections.  Took about 30 sec to answer.

This is a telephone "poll survey" company.  The caller would not give the company name.  I very nicely asked that my cell number be removed from their list and the guy told me that they do not have a list.  I asked him if they subscribe to the Do Not Call Registry and he admitted that this is where they get the phone numbers they call.  When I said that this is illegal, he stated that the Do Not Call Registry does not apply to them.  

There are too many abusers of this system.  Not only are they wasting our minutes, they are blatantly violating the law.  Poll survey my rear end.  There must be a way to stop these morons.

They keep calling and calling and wont stop. They need to be dealt with and held responsible for breaking the law of the Do No Call Registry.

Unknown/unwanted call

I keep getting calls from this number too. When I call back, it provides an opportunity to be added to a 'do not call' list. I continue to get calls despite having complied with the request. Their message says: "It may take up to 30 days to comply with your request."

I just got another call(!!).  The operator said that they represent a company named "National Polling Firm." [Highly suspect] They also said I could call 406-545-5971 with any requests for additional information.

I have a sense that this is part of the Republican punch to head off opinions about the November election. There is too much anonymous big money continuing to protect their piece of the pie.

I just realized that the number I was provided does not in fact allow you to get any more information. It is the same number I called the other day and used to get added to their do not call list. Ethical companies do NOT prevent scrupulous Americans from asking, "Who is responsible? Why don't you pay my cell phone bill?"

Don't waste your time, but DO write the attorney general and put a stop to this bull*. It is only September and these wrotten polling people are wasting our time and only who knows money.

just got a call from 406-545-5971, they called 3 times yesterday and when they called today I answered, some girl laughed then hung up.. doesn't sound like something a polling place would do, but i hung up and called back and it gave me a prompt to be taken off the call list.

I haven't answered because they haven't left a voicemail.  They keep called repeatedly, so I thought I'd look it up.  Doesn't seem legit to me!
