No idea. Just received a call from them myself.

Just got a call from here. Caller ID said "local search". A message, from the "FBI" about putting a yard sign up, began as soon as my answering machine picked up and then disconnected. I believe I read something about a scam related to these calls.

Here we go again.  They started calling a few months ago under a different name and number.  Always a robot call and you can never get a human on the line. Wanting to install free security.

These calls are from Human Vultures wanting to pick your your wallet.  Don't let them.

As you can see the "Do not call" does not work.

Wanting to put a "security" sign in my yard.  I have no association with these people wherever they are (I doubt they are within the USA borders). I think they GET numbers off the DNC list.  I'm thinking about disconnecting my landline.  At $70/month to Frontier Communications, my home phone is used primarily by telemarkters

SCAM like all the calls I get on my home phone. My home phone seems to be used primarily by telemarketers, and junk calls.  They never leave a message.  And the DNC list is useless.  My number is an unlisted, unpublished private number, so I guess all the calls are Robo calls.   I already have a security system, don't need one from out of State from the West part of the USA.  I live on the East coast and have a local in State security system.

Scumbags who use a different spoofed phone number every day.  They are trying to sell home security systems.

They are criminals, they arent trying to sell nothing, all they want to do is to steal. Your credit cards/bank and identities are what they are after. There is no home security there is no service. Why would someone call you with the same speel with a different fake number but no call back number or general information. They scam gullible and vunerable people (especially the elderly) to act on impulse to give out personal information.

People this has being going on for some time now, same thing as Rachel/Heather with "Card Services." The calls arent going to stop, becuase people keep falling for them. Automatically, if you recieve an unwarranted ROBO TELEMARKETING CALL, guess what, IT IS A SCAM AND IT IS ILLEGAL. ROBO telemarketing calls are illegal. Period. Secondly, if you recieve a call from an out of area/market, it is probably a scam. The calls signs are literally all the same, day in and day out. Fake caller Id, weird number, same robo call. Once people stop falling for this scam and realize that Identity theft and credit card scams as well as telemarketing scams are on the rise. It is easy money for criminals becuase most people are non the wiser. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!!! Warn the elderly and the guillible. Most Americans recieve 4 to 5 calls a week like this a week. Every news organization has reported on this scam for months now and people still fall for it.

Report the call, WARN others, and ignore the calls. You will recieve many many many and yet again, many more.

O.K. Had the same experience as others listed above, but when I searched for the phone number under several search engines it only came back with one or two results -- none of them helpful. I used to get 800notes.com and other similar sites from a search, but not this time. Have these Spammers rigged the search results so that they won't show up? I had to come directly to this site from a bookmark and search here to get to this page.

I just received a call from this # today.  I'm elderly but not stupid.  I don't answer calls if I don't know who is calling.  I know they prey on the elderly and some not so old, but they will not get a dime of my money.  I am on the DNC list also and it seems the unwanted calls just keeps increasing on a daily basis.  I love my caller ID. When one of these numbers appear, I unplug my phone so they can't even leave a message, then plug it in again.

The "Do Not Call" list and the Federal Trade Commission that supposedly operates the DMC list is a joke with federal employees siphoning off our tax dollars for doing nothing. The only purpose of the FTC is to protect crooks and corporations. If they really wanted to stop illegal telemarketing, the FTC and Congress should enable laws that would force the telephone companies and Internet Service Providers (VoIP) to not sell phone services to these crooks. To do so should mean HUGE Federal fines for reducing our national debt.

The Do Not Call Registry is not a magic wand that's supposed to prevent telemarketing, it's like a "No Trespassing" sign that tells people to keep off your property. Only a fool would expect the sign to establish a force field that actually stops people from trespassing. The fact is, we have no way of measuring the number of calls that *are* prevented by the DNC registry, but you can be sure the number is enormous: VOIP telephony has made phone calls virtually as cheap as email. If not for the DNC Registry you can be sure every large, medium and small business in the country would be using telemarketing to a massive extent.

Fining offenders doesn't have any effect because they're almost impossible to trace and often overseas and out of range of our laws. And hitting someone in a trailer park in the U.S. or a slum in Mumbai will will generate zero revenue no matter what the amount, for reasons that should be obvious.

It is amazing that some people acually pick up the phone. Just don't pick up the phone. If your phone company has the means...just block the number. I can block up to 32 numbers and I use them all. The DNC list is a real joke.

I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago, I sent it straight to my voicemail as I don't answer bogus looking numbers on my caller ID which said it was from Bozeman, MT (yeah right whatever)...these robo calls can kiss my assssss!

WE welcome you "scum bags" to Texas - in fact we invite you to dare come to Texas with your sick calls. A dose of "Texas justice" might convince you scalawags to find an honest job. Just keep it up - one day your phone will ring and you will find the law wanting to check up on you.
