I just did- 9 pm est 4/6/11.  I am registered in the "do not call" registry, yet I still get calls like this.

When I said Hello, they said Hello and wouldn't say anything else so I hung up.

Even though I'm on the national "do not call" list, I received a call from this number - shown on caller ID as 'Avery Place'.  I answered on the 2nd ring but nobody answered me so it's probably an automated call that dials x amount of numbers and only answers the first to pickup.

Just got a call on my cell phone from this number. When I picked up, I heard hold music, and then after a few seconds of me saying "Hello?" it cut off and hung up. Weird. I assume it was some sort of telemarketing call where the robocaller saw someone else pick up before me. I'm on the Do-Not-Call list and all that. Oh well.

Just got a call. The man, with an Indian accent, asked how I was doing and then asked to speak to the homeowner. I said that I think you have the wrong number and he asked my age and I told him and he was like so you're the home owner. I just hung up.

Claimed to be a dealer for General Electric and that I'd been selected for something...couldn't quite understand him.

I received a call today from this number (Indian accent).  They picked me and 10 other homeowners in my area (aren't I lucky?) to receive a FREE GE home security system.  I wouldn't have to pay anything but the monthly fee.  Said no thanks and hung up.  I am on the DNC list, but I guess that doesn't do anything these days.

Just a few minutes ago received a call on my cell phone from this number.  Like one of the other comments, there was a few seconds of "on-hold" music (which covered my "hello" when I answered), then a click and the ambient noise of a call center.  I listened for about 30 seconds, saying nothing, and only heard a younger male (20-25) with a midwestern accent say "Michael from (unintelligible)", then a second black female with a ghetto-sounding accent laughed and said "not much more o' dis sh*t".  I was then apparently automatically disconnected.  Immediately returned the call to receive the phone company notification that the number was not in service.  Area code 406 is supposedly in Montana.  Wikipedia has this to say: "On December 10, 2008, Google's Gmail Blog announced that SMS messages could be sent from inside Gmail. The messages are sent from numbers in the 406 area code. Each number is unique and can be bookmarked in your phone for replies or future use. Google also employs the use of area code 406 for the assignment of reply-to or callback numbers for Google Voice's customers' contacts."  Obviously, the criminal infrastructure of the FCC allows for this type of call center to mask its identity using spurious or easily-hidden area codes.

Got a robo call just music

I got a call from this number a few minutes ago.  Started asking questions about smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.  Could barely understand her Asian accent.  I hung up after 3 questions figuring it was probably a scam to get my information.  I, like many that have posted here, am on the do-not-call list.  WTF?

Just got a call from this number...so did my husband just a few minutes later!!

Got a call from this number, the young man with a very heavy indian accent told me his name was "john".  If his name is really "john" then my name is really "sanjit".  I hung up.

no idea who or what they called for .

Sales call.  We need to call for the DoNotCall registry to disband- totally useless.  instead- ANY business that doesn't identify with their phone number subject to heavy, heavy fines.  This crap is totally bullshyte
WE PAY FOR THE TIME ON OUR PHONES AND NO ONE WHO ISNT AUTHORIZED SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CALL ON THEM.  If you are a business, u must identify yourself whenever you call anyone- end of story.

Received call from this number sounded like the russan guy on the credit card commercial acting like a woman. Anyway offered free home security system, I said, I don't understand what you are saying. He slowed down and explained they were giving away home security systems. Told them I was not interested. They called back 3 times and hang the phone up would not answer. I called them back they hang up and would not answer. Must be a scam of some kind don't give them any information or credit card numbers. They don't even sound like they are in this country. Did a reverse lookup and get Avery Place Glendive, MT looked for a address on the internet but could not find any.

Called my cell phone while I was at the golf course.  Caller had a asian accent and I could hardly understand them.  I thought they said they were with GM or GE and I told them not to call my cell again and hung up.  Pest!!

Damn people.
