I got a call as well, but I did not answer the phone call.

I got a call and stayed on the phone to see what they were offering. I believe its possibly a scam. I wouldn't say for sure though. Here is the conversation
We are calling because you have been entered into a sweepstakes for over a million dollars in cash and prizes, because you are such a good customer for the Publishers.
(They already had all my shipping information and first and last name)
We are going to send you a $250 gift certificate available to use at .....(I can't remember) just for entering our sweepstakes.
For the low price of 3.53 per week we will go ahead and give you 5 magazines and your $250 Gift Certificate.

So thats what they are selling. I stayed on to see if I could get the package or whatever without having to give my CC info. I got transferred to her "boss" and then he confirmed everything, just like they do when they are recording your conversation to backup their scam later. And then started asking these odd questions.
You have a visa correct?
May I ask what the expiration is?
So if its a VISA it should start with a 4 correct?
Would you mind reading it from left to right?

This is where I told him that I don't trust any company that calls me with offers and then asks for my credit card information. He quickly said thank you have a nice day, and hung up. So make of it what you will. I will say you probably get what you pay for, but you will probably get rangled into some odd contract that you cannot get out of, or is very frustrating to get out of.

I received a phone call very similar to this one from a different number... They asked the exact same thing & offered nearly the exact same "prizes"... I told the person on the other line that I did not trust them with my information & did not want to purchase anything from then. He then went into a long explaination of my "credit card rights" & how he would not purchase anything without my permission because it's against the law... I told him multiple times I was not interested & eventually was able to get off the phone with him... A couple days later I checked my bank account online because I was suspicious of them & there was a small charge he added to my card for only $1... My dad had called a man he knew that worked with banks and helping people with their accounts and he said that they will charge a small fee, see if it clears through the bank and if it does they'll start charging your account until there's nothing left. It scared me to know he could empty my account with all the money I've worked hard for... The same day I cancelled my card and received a new one. Don't trust them!

that is so very scary .... i just received a phone call. I didnt answer, just googled the number and found this. It just makes me sick to my stomach. That there are so many scams out here. GET REAL JOBS, INSTEAD OF STEALING OR TRYING TO STEAL OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received a call from this number and chose to not answer as I have no connection with anyone in Montana.  Having read the above messages, I want to thank you for providing the public this website.

I have been getting calls from this number for weeks. I answered it the first time and there wasn,t anyone there. I, also have no relationship with anyone in Montana!

I just got a call from this number, but was busy and could not answer it.  I goggled the number to see who the number belongs to and saw all of this.... This is scary!!!!  
I have also been getting alot of sweepstake emails saying that I have won $1000 wal-mart gift cards.

How do these scammers get our cellphone numbers?!? I didn't answer because I don't know anyone from Montana!

did not call number they called me

I got a call from this number on my cell phone during working hours,,,did not answer. How do they get my number, I never give my cell number out to anyone.

I just got a call from this number, I however could not get to the phone, so my daughter answered it for me. When she asked who was calling the caller said Jayce. When she asked what company the caller was from they hung up the phone immediately!

this is bull sh*t i hate how i cant even have a phone number with out having to worry about scammers and all that kind of thing the internet is bad enough and that is probably how they get our cell phone numbers by using your phone on facebook....ect.

Just got a call while in  the shower. They did not leave a message so I googled the number and here I am.  Glad I wasn't able to answer them.

how did they get your bank information to charge that small fee?

Just received call from 406-961-2443... A very unprofessional sounding woman began asking me if I held certain credit cards... I advised that I don't talk over the phone/internet or whatever about credit cards... She then said "well, don't you want to win a million dollars?" I advised her to not call my number anymore and she replied "We don't pick the numbers, it's done by a computer..." At this point (actually only a few seconds), She rambled on and I hung up.

This needs to stop.

Got this number calling me several times but never leaves a message.  My daughter answered last night and told them I was unable to come to the phone at the moment.  They said that I had contacted them about my credit card however they had mistyped the number could she please get it and reread it to them as well as the expiration date.  That they were in process of lowering my interest rate for me.  

My daughter laughed and told them they should investigate people trying to scam better.  The man tried to object saying not a scam and she told them that she knew had to be that her mother would never contact anyone regarding a credit card since she had never had a credit card, never wanted a credit card and would never have a credit card.  The guy hung up without another word.  

I want to know how these people are getting our numbers!  Who is selling our #'s without permission.  It needs to be stopped.  No one should be allowed to give out or sell peoples phone numbers without permission. I have unlisted phone number for a reason!
