Has been calling for almost daily for 6 months straight for someone about bill collection...I refuse to answer...

This is a collection agency - I get almost 5 calls a day even thought they are calling for someone else -- they still call my number and have even threaten to have me arrested for not letting them talk to mr such and such

unwanted calls from a person that has NO outstanding bills

This is FH Patient Financial Services. This department helps out patients after they have been billed for services that were provided. They help out with any insurance issues, payment plans, financial services, care issues, etc. If you recieve a call from them I would definitely pick up or atleast call back. Most of the time it is about an insurance issue that needs to be resolved or an update on the account.

Of course you say to definitely pick up because your bill collector commission is dependent on getting people to pay. A much smarter move would be for people receiving these calls to call FL Hospital back themselves at their listed phone number to verify the legitimacy.

It is "illegal" for anyone calling you to threaten you with being arrested if you don't do whatever, (i.e put some person on the phone, forward the message, pay a bill....whatever). Get the person's name, their supervisor's name and call your local FBI field office and turn their "illegal" butts in. Even the police will not resort to such tactics because "IT IS ILLEGAL" and constitutes "harassment". Of course the police will just come and get someone they're going to arrest....they don't threaten over the phone.
