Rec'd a call from this person - they asked for me by name and claimed they were with PAL - they wanted a donation - when i said no they hung up on me

I recievd a call from this number and they said it was a civil matter in order to get me to take the call. When I answered a male said he was with police organization I said I could not give any money and he got angry and kept saying "you do not know what this call is about and you do not want to know." I said no and I hung up on him

I've received multiple calls from this number and the guy also asks to speak to my wife, using only her first name.  Several times he said he was with PAL but other times he mentioned a different organization which I don't recall.  I would never let him talk to my wife which seems to irritate him.  He was very brusque and now that last couple of times (just called yesterday) he justs hangs up when I answer.  Some calls the number was blocked.  I've tried calling the number back but no-one answers.

We have just started to get calls from this #. Whne the phone is answered they just sit there and say nothing. Tried calling the # back but our number is blocked, tried calling from my cell with my number blocked and they have the caller ID activated where you can not block your number. I am doing the call trace with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

I just recieved a call as well...I answered the call it said on the caller ID local call, and I heard nothing just breathing in the background really weired!!

I just got a call from this number, claiming with PAL. I told him that I could barely support myself and then he said, "Can I ask you a question sir?" I replied, "Yes you can." Click. Yeah he hung up on me. I really would have liked to know his question!

Received a call and was on the phone at the time, (Call-waiting) Called back the number 407-412-9892 a hispainc man answered. I told him some one called me from this number and I asked him who he was, he asked me what was my name but I refused to give my name and then asked who could have called me from this number and he refused to give me inform.

Please DO NOT give any information to this person.

They wanted me to donate... No identification of who they were, just the PAL... who the ____ are they???
My number is on a "Do Not Call" list, so shouldn't they be fined or executed or something nice like that..?

07/10/09 I just received a call from the number. Also asked for my wife by first name. Stated his name was Andrew.  Looks like his luck is running out. As a Federal Agent, I will track it down...

I just got a call today for my husband, and that he wasn't here, and he got rude with me, I asked who called and he keep saying PAL, I said where do you need him for? I handle all finance ect. He keep saying I need to speak with your husband.
And hanged up!

07/11/09 I just got a call from this clown. He did the breathing thing and asked for my wife. I said she was busy and he said ok and hung up. 407 area code is Orlando.

I have received calls from this number over and over...and no one anwers. I am really concerned after reading everyones posts concerning this number. No one ever says anything, but when I call from my land-line it says that there is network difficulty, but when I call from my cell, it says that it is a not working number. I have law enforcement all in my family, so I am going to report it to them to see if they know anything or can do anything. It is getting really annoying! Thanks to everyone for taking time out of their schedules to post on here so that I know more about this misterious annoyance. God Bless.

These idiots have been calling for my wife for weeks now and will not provide info on who the hell they are! I do shift work and often get woke up by the SOBs!! Then to hang up on me?!?!?!?! Cannot get thru when I've tried calling the number back to chew on some ass. I'm positive its an organization pilfering $$$. By the way, when these types call u claiming to work for various Law Enforcement or Fire Fighter organizations, they are liars. These are basically third party pilferers making money off the various organizational "names". The organization itself may get 2% of the donation, if that.

'm SAYING!!! I have been on the do not call list forever, why I am getting all of these calls...I dont know.

People from this number (407-412-9892) are calling my number every single day.

Got a call from this # asking for my boyfriend. When I said he wasn't here and started to ask who was calling the woman quickly said it wasn't important and she would call back. She hung up before I could get an answer from her.
I called the # back and got a recorded message telling me there were PAL and that I could call their customer service # (1-800-299-1895) with any additional questions. When I called this # they offered an automated service to add my number to their do not call list. Hopefully it works!

We received a call from this number this evening and the answering machine picked up with my husbands voice on it.  There was no message from the caller, but I'm glad I looked it up before trying to call it back.  I've been waiting for a few replies to job applications, which is the only reason I thought I might call it back.....NOT NOW!  So glad I checked first.  I WILL NOT answer the phone when and if this number shows up again on caller ID.  Thank you to all who have posted previously...obviously, a year later, this clown is still trying to scam people!

My wife answered the phone for her grandmother just before 9pm. The lady asked for Miss Annie but was told "she is in bed sleeping." My wife asked what it was in regards to and was hung up on. My wife called back the number & the message said it was PAL ( suppose to be Police Athletic League?) Other family members were notified of the phone number & its supposed message. Thanks for all the contributions & updates.

To the Federal Agent who responded on this post...it's just crazy the number of unsolicited calls
we receive.  Also on the do not call list.
For the past month, calls from here to Canada. We don't answer, but they just call and call every day.
Why is this do not call list working????  Seems strange that they know everyone on a first name
basis.

Same person just called and asked to speak with my boyfriend by his first name.  I said he wasn't home and the man replied with "okay I'll try back later".
