I received a call from this number telling me that I had a family emergency and requesting my social security number to verify my identify.  I refused and they had things to say about me now wanting to know the emergency but they would not tell me the emergency without giving my social security number.   I then called the number back and it is an obscene voice mail and has nothing to do with anyone just someone trying to steal your information.   This is a cell phone through AT & T.

What a scammer!  This obviously was going to lead to identity theft:  A guy says he is a paramedic and is calling about an accident in which a lady is unconscious and they found my number on her.  (I should have asked what was the name next to the phone number or asked for some other identifying information.) He asked if there was someone that I knew who that it could be.  I said yes and gave my wife's name.  He acts as if verifying the name, and then asked me what type of car she was driving.  I gave it I.  He then asks another fairly reasonable question.  I ask why he wanted to know and then turn to may daughter and ask her to try calling my wife.  He then says that he is just trying to do his job.  I say the same.  He says something like he does not have time and hangs up.  My daughter then connects with my wife and my wife laughs about it.  I, being a guy, assume that he chose to say "lady" after I answered.

I received a similar call as above.  The person said that he was paramedic Smith and that he was at the scene of a bad accident at the Exxon. He found my telephone number on a man involved in the accident and asked "is there a man in  central florida who would have my number as an emergency number?"  When I replied no he said that he was just trying to sort things out.  That an Nissan Altima was involved and my sitter drives an Altima.  I asked if there were any women or children involved and said that I would come to the scene and he said again "he was doing his job and sorting things out.'  He then hung up.

I received the same call this morning regarding an accident involving a Nissan Altima & Toyota Camry. Dam scammer whose name on voice mail is Gansta Nickas.

My spouse got a call from this number with someone trying the car injury scam. The caller is a real lowlife.

Same thing just happened.  Said a man was in an auto accident and my number was his emergency number.  Said he was bleeding and Unconscious.  That he had hit his son on a motorcycle and the kid had been taken to er.  Said he took the man in his car before the police could get there.  Gave a description that fit my husband pretty well.  He had our last name.  Started telling me I would need to wire him money to take care of his son or he would shoot my husband.  It was awful until I was able to reach my husband.  Reported this to ATT as it comes up as an att number.  Police took report as well.

Lowlife does not even begin to describe how awful this person is!

Just had this same exact call about my wife today. Called the police to have a report filed, and they advised they could not follow up with  ATT because they would need a warrant for it. They cannot get a warrant without a crime, and there was no money wired/given so there was no crime. Well done.....well done.

Just got the same call.   Saying he was an EMT.  He kept calling me ma'am.   Didn't even have my name.   I asked him the me and model of the car,  he didn't know.   He then asked if he could call back when he got to the hospital and get the name of the man.   I told him no.   It sounds like he's got AT&T customers info.   Do NOT give your name.   If it is an emergency,  your name appears on the person's cellphone involved.   SCAM

This person is still doing this, what if the person on the other line had a heart problem, and ends up having a heart attack due to this. Seriously, this need to stop!
