Asked if I wanted to accept a collect call from _______________________ no name was given and I eventually just hung up. Tried to call the number back and it kept ringing busy.

If you want to accept calls from this number, the Orange County Jail, on your cell or landline phone, you have to set up an account with Offender Connect.  Go to this link to sign up and set up an account ~ https://www.offenderconnect.com.

Once you do that you will be able to receive calls from the incarcerate individual who is trying to reach you.  It says it's a "collect" call, but it actually goes through Offender Connect.  Each call is approximately $2.45 for 15 minutes of talk time with the inmate.

I didn't recognize the phone number so I let it go to voice mail.  I listed to the call and says it's a collect call from Orange County Correctional Agency and if I like to accept collect charges.

Received a phone call from 404-4238858, saying was a collect call from Orange County Correctional Facility and to accept the charges to press 1 . After that was a tap saying to call a 1800 number to make arrangements to pay the fee before received the call . I could right down the 1800 # so I try to call back the 407# and was always either busy or fax signal . That is a really BAD joke .

Received several calls from this number, called back got a fax sound. Some sort of scam? I don't know...really weird.

Thanks for the clear up JBond I understand the weird phone call/phone hang-up situation now. Its just like you said that someone I know is in Orange County Jail and trying to call me and I need to set up an account at www.offenderconnect.com so that when they call me back, we can talk. Also if anyone thinks this is some kind of scam, its not, just check the Orange County Jail website (or whatever county website your phone message says its calling from) and this same information is listed under Inmate Phone Calls.  Again thanks JBond.

They called twice. No recording, nothing, so I hung up. First call left message saying "this call may be recorded or monitored."

This is not a scam at all.  This is an inmate from the orange county jail trying to reach you.  It hangs up because you have to create an account on offender connect. It will hang up if there is not an account set up under your phone number. Go to https://www.connectnetwork.com/portal and create an account for your loved one to talk to you.

Probably is a scam since you have to offenderconnect.com to register your phone for Orange County Corrections. I received 3 calls on a government cell phone in 2 days. Guarantee I don't know anyone is OC jail that has my work phone number.

Someone from this telephone number (407) 423-8858 keeps calling my cell and asking to accept a collect call from Orange County Correctional Facility in Florida. They then ask to make a account in WWW.offenderconnect.com in order to accept collect call from this facility. This has to be a scam because the hours they call are odds hours, inmates should be in bed by that time.

They are taking avantage of families who have a love ones in a correctional facility. Someone should find this people and arrest them.

This telephone number 407-423-8858 is the Orange County FL Corrections Facility and if you know someone there you will get your calls from that number after you put money on the caller's "account".   Otherwise they (the prisoners) cannot make calls from the number.

Yes the phone number is an automated phone system used by the Orange County Jail in Orlando Florida. The companys name is Connectnet  and the e-mail address is ConnectNet.com. Their customer service number is 888 949-3303. Inmates must have a prepaid collect account to use phone. Takes 24 hrs to establish account. $5.00 connection fee. Local calls are $2.75 per call. Been dealing with this all day as a family member got themselves arrested. It is a pain. Each phone you register is a $5.00 fee and must have money on each account. Service sucks.
