I asked that she remove my name from their list, she told me I had to do it on the internet, and hung up on me when I objected.

I've been getting them also...just emailed my state's attorney general's office supplying them with the number...probably not much they can do either since the scammers will just keep switching numbers...

A call from 407-434-9999 was received @ 12:55pm, when answered the phone, no one was on there. I hung up and redialed the number and I got a recording that "the number was not in service." I am on the National Do Not Call List and would like my number removed from the call list of whoever called!!!!!

These folks are spoofing the caller ID.  The recording that starts "this is Rachael from card services calling about your current card. There is no problem with your account..." Then it goes on about how they can lower the interest rate. Got two calls from different LOCAL numbers that had the exact same recording. Checked with a friend that works for the local phone company and he said the numbers on my caller ID did not exist and they were using a spoofing service that makes it impossible to trace it back to them.  It is illegal, but there is no way they can catch them since the spoofing service they use is in another country so they can't get court orders for their records.

PITA -  THERE IS NO WAY TO TRACK THEM DOWN OR STOP THEM FROM SPOOFING AND CALLING AGAIN.  WE CAN LAND ON THE MOON BUT OUR TAX $$ CANNOT STOP THIS BS.
I KNOW --- WE'RE JUST NOT PAYING ENOUGH IN TAXES.  WTF ??!!??

Received a call from this number. When I answered no on was there.  Immediately called the number back and received a message the number was not in service.  I am on the no call list.  I DON'T LIKE BEING BOTHERED WITH NONSENSE CALLS!!  I filed a complaint with the FCC.  Everyone should do the same

We have a simple rule: unless the calling line ID shows someone we know (and want to talk to), we just DON"T ANSWER THE PHONE!  The machine picks up, and 998 out of 1000 times, they hang up. If it's truly important (once my credit card company called to confirm an overseas purchase, for example), they WILL leave a message. Otherwise, well, if it's not important enough for them to leave a message, it's not important enough for me to talk to them.
Messages on my machine are easy enough to delete if I don't want to hear the whole message. . .

Of course it's convenient that the people who make the laws, made themselves exempt from the DNC law. Surprise, surprise. They did the same thing with Social Security and the "affordable health care" laws. I'm surprised they didn't exempt themselves from the Income tax! (Ohhh, don't say that too loudly, they'll hear it!)

I just got 3rd one this week -
I had the number added to my permanently blocked number - so the phone doesn't even ring.

    - your phone company should offer similar feature.

Cardholder Services. I talked to an agent the second they answered, I asked for the real name of the business. The agent hungup... not surprisingly. I've tried to dig info out of them countless times, but try as you might, they ain't going to reveal anything.

I joined your ranks also. One search shows Florida in a vacant lot. Ths other shows a cell phone. Call was for lower interest rates. I agree we do not pick up unknown calls either but it is a pain to have to listen to the message. Di make a complaint to the no call list, will check and see if ATT offers a blocker service.

It's a scammer. I just tried to call the number back and it says it's out of service. It's another scammer trying to get your credit card number claiming they can lower your rates, but all they want to do is get your CC number and use it and scam you. Hang up on these people!!

Thanks for the info, everyone.  I will change the name on my Caller ID so that I won't pick up when they call.  If you pick up and tell them to please delete your number, then they know they have a 'real' number and they will keep harrassing you.  I don't know how anyone can stop spammers who are using spoofing technology.
