This number called a citizen saying they were an EMT and his daughter was in a horrible accident then went on saying the person she hit is a felon and can not go to the hospital which is when he started to demand money. EMT will not call family only hospitals do. Do not give any money to anyone that sounds anything like this

I received a similar call from this number today, but it was my parents who had been in the accident and hit a kid on a motorcycle. The "EMT" eventually began demanding $8000 to cover the cost of medical bills for the injured motorcyclist (supposedly his little brother), and if I didn't comply he was going to "put a bullet in each of their [my parents'] heads".

The person that contacted me on this number claimed to be an EMT from a local hospital and said that someone in an accident had listed me as their emergency contact.  When they asked for my name, I asked who they were looking for.   They avoided the question and asked if I understood what they were saying, stated that it was a young man around 22 that was in a Honda Accord that had been in the accident on Orange Ave, and asked if that fit the description of anyone I knew.  I told them no, that didn't sound like anyone that I knew, and they said they might have the wrong number.  It sounded busy in the background, lots of people talking.  This call infuriated me!  I was upset because it brought me right back to when I had received a real call like this about my husband, but when he couldn't ask for me by name, I figured (prayed!) it was a scam.  What a horrible way to trick people!

My elderly mother got that call too..claiming they were Florida Hospital and had her number as an emergency contact for a young man who was in a bad way at the hospital who drove a Nissan.                                                                                                                                               She panicked and called me, sending me into a panic since it described a family member. Fortunately it was the car model that was the giveaway. My daughter alerted me to this scam. We called the police and reported the number.

Received call 9/25 stating same as above, stated I was someone's point of contact who ran over a 16 year old kid on a bike.
Alluded it was my wife and they cracked her head with a gun and If I hung up or did not comply and give them $3000 they would put a bullet in my wife's head.

Very upsetting until I put the pieces together and grabbed another phone and contacted wife who was safe.

An elderly woman I know was called by this number and told that some man was in an acident and needed her to come ID him.  I am the only male in the area who  would have thier number as a contact .  It's scary what may have happened if she had gone.

I received a call from this number Sunday afternoon - - same exact script....a male on orange ave got into a bad wreck and was unconscious.  Asking my name saying I was on the emergency contact.  And told me the driver was in a nissan. As soon as I questioned he said he might have the wrong number.  I tried calling the number back after I hung up and it ran but said there was no voice mail set up.  Horrible prank/scam.

Just received a call from a scumbag at this number.
Identified himself as an EMT.  Claimed he was calling to let me know a man was in critical condition at Florida Hospital and had given my name as a contact person.
He asked my name and then, fortunately, the call was disconnected and he didn't call back.
    Very noisy background.

Sorry to hear it.  Make sure you make a police report on this matter.   Also when you do make a report, print out this page, to let the police know how extensive it is.  How did you pay them.   If you used a Green dot money pak or similar device your money is gone.  If you used a credit or debit card go back to the bank and see if  the transaction can be reversed.

I think maybe these people are employees of a hospital and have looked into patient's records somehow and concocted this scam.  Make sure you make a police report and print out this page.  This scam is apparently originating in South Florida.

Anyone receiving these kinds of calls should make a police report and print out this page.  Only by the police talking to anyone who was scammed do they have a chance of finding who's doing this.  Also, go to the media and let them know too.

I received a similar call from this number today, but it was my husband had been in the accident and hit a 16 yeard old kid on a motorcycle.  Identified himself as an EMT.  Claimed he was calling to let me know a man was in critical condition at Florida Hospital and had given my name as a contact person.

My wife got the call today same story about an injured man on orange ave who had her number as the emergency contact.

Then I got a call a few minutes later same thing EMT saying my wife was in an accident. We had spoke so I said no she hadn't I was just speaking with her. He said well is this her number. (Was my wife's) I said she wasn't in an accident and he said well the police were coming and he had to go.

I called our local police they came around and said not much they could do as the phone was probably picked up at a gas station. But they are aware of the scam. He hoped to get the call.

These guys are malicious to play on folks fears.  I looked up the number and was listed as a Winter Park cell.
