Scam - won't identify what company they are with.  They've been doing this with different phone numbers.  Ask what company and they say Visa but Visa doesn't issue cards.. they license to banks.
They also ignore the Do Not Call registry.

When I actually answered the call and pressed number 1 to learn more, an operator came on the line.  When I asked what company they were with and how they got my cell phone number, she hung up on me.  Tells me that it is clearly not legit.

They called earlier today and left a partial message...babbling something about "lower your rates" -- yes, another scam, being called by telemarketers when we are on the do not call list, both state and federal. But why do they bother? We never pick up and we never will. You always have to consider that these pest calls could be somehow placed into motion by bottom-feeding vermin who try to extort money from people who may or may not have an unpaid debt from twenty years ago.  Ugh! An infestation of mice in the basement is much easier to get rid of!

Received the same menacing call about "lowering your rates".  I  will be reporting this number to the Federal Communications Commission and suggest everyone else takes a moment to do the same at the following email address: fccinfo@fcc.gov.

I just received a call from 407-936-9999 stating they can lower my interest rates to 6.9% figured it was a scam.  When the person told me this I asked "oh yeah and what card is this"  He said "well rude lady it is Visa/Mastercard.  I then said well now I will get rudder "I don't have a Visa/Mastercard whose name is on the card your questioning"  He then said well rude lady if you would just shut up and quit being so rude I will tell you "He then said my name" too bad I don't have a card you are on a joint account with "gave my husband's name"   No I wasn't; he lied.  He then said well I hope someone steals your identify and racks up your accounts thru the wazoo.  I then told him to go to hell and hung up.  He had the audacity to call back and started cursing at me.  I hung up.  When he called back the caller ID said private caller.  I then called our credit union and informed them what happened.  They stated he got mad at me because I went right back at them from the beginning and didn't get excited with the 6.9% rate.  All out there please be careful.

Unknown name and number only on my caller ID, which sends up a RED FLAG. Why would someone call and have an unknown name? SCAM! of course. I answered and they hung up. This call is from Florida, and please never key in a number on your phone when someone on the other line tells you to, unless you know who it is, like phone co, etc. keying in a number could transfer your call overseas for a long distant number, then you'll have to pay long distant charges that could be outrages.

This is the same scam call I have been receiving for weeks from Credit Card Services from various numbers across the country.  They are scammers offering phoney credit card debt relief.  It is a recorded message, but I opted to talk to one of their representatives and asked to be put on their Do Not Call list and reminded him that my number is on the Federal Do Not Call Registry.  He continued to make a sales pitch until I hung up.   If you are on the Do Not Call Registry file a complaint EVERY TIME you get a call from these scammers.  They keep switching numbers so you need to file a complaint EVERY TIME.  The FTC finally stopped a similar scam from a phoney auto warranty company that had been calling my number as often as three times a day for months.

Called me again today 7-18-2011. 1-407-936-9999. These @sshats just don't quit. I kept the guy on the phone just a bit until I was about to lose him because he actually got aggrevated because I didn't have my CC statements in front of me to give him specifics on interest rates per balances on the multiple cards I told him I had. I only have a couple and they have no running balances. I just wanted to keep him on the phone. He actually said less than a minute into the call that he gets paid by the hour and that he needs accurate info immediately. He used the word "dude". I finally let him have it with choice words mixed in with fraud, scammer, and low life pieces of ****!!!! The phone then went dead. I had one of these guys last year during the tirade part of my call, call me by my name and say he knew where I lived. I invited him over if he had a pair if he didn't like the words. He hung up. I wish these jack@sses would put my number on a list to pass out to all their scammer pals that my house is wise to them and to quit wasting my time and THEIR OWN and move on to look for some poor sap that believes their attempt at theft.

I just got a call from 407-936-9999.  The 9999 at the end was a dead give-away that this is some shyshter on the other end of the line so I didn't even answer the call.  (Just got a new phone system installed and don't have the call answer set up yet and turned on, so of course no msg.)    Didn't know where 407 area code is however, so I googled and found it is Orlando as other have reported here.

They have called over and over even after I tell them that we have no credit cards. When they say we have Visa, I tell them AGAIN that we have no credit cards. We didn't start getting these calls until I was laid off work and the state unemployment department sent me the "credit card" for my unemployment benefits. I don't know if anyone else on this message board is unemployed and their state handles their unemployment that way, but it is a possibility. We are also on the DO NOT CALL lists for all of our phones.
