- Jenna Smith407-971-2739 came up on my caller ID. I usually answer local numbers in case it is my little brother. "Hi this is Jackie with the Daily Jackpot calling on a recorded line. How are you doing today?" Funny because Jackie has called me about 4 or 5 times now. The first time I humored her, wasting about 15 minutes listening to her spiel about a free $100 shopping voucher. Everything was great until she asked me to purchase something so that is where I kindly asked her to put me on their Do Not Call List. (My number is already registered with the registry). The next several times that she called, I wasted no time before I asked them to put me on their Do Not Call List.
This morning when they called, it was Jackie again. However this time her spiel was changed up a bit. So I decided to hear her out, and get transferred over to do a brief survey to be eligible for an HD TV. I complied, mainly so I could have enough information to spread the word about this Daily Jackpot scam. Its a 7-10 question survey to which I pressed (2) for all of them which is "no". Then I get a "Congratulations, you are eligible for $100 shopping voucher for Walmart, Target, or Home Depot." That's funny, I didn't know my closed-door answers would lead to such a positive outcome (rolling eyes).
A foreign gentleman got on the line, speaking so quickly with a sharp accent. I asked him to transfer me to someone I could understand. He did not but he slowed it down a bit where I could almost understand what he was telling me. He said that I am eligible for a $200 shopping voucher (maybe if I stay on the phone longer, the amount will continue to increase). He also asserted that there would be no out of pocket expense, not once, not twice but three different times amongst more blah blah blah. He asked me for my name (Amanda Hugginkiss), my zip code (gave him the work zip, in case I really did have a voucher coming my way. lol), and then told me I am eligible because I shopped at one of their partners recently. I guess the majority of people have shopped at Walmart, Target or HomeDepot recently? I don't know, but there would be no way for them to have that information anyway.
Then Mr. India says to me that he will need $7 and change to activate my card. Wait, rewind to the part where he said "NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE". "I need to talk to your manager," I exclaimed. "What ma'am?" "I. Need. To. Talk. To. Your. Manager." The phone went silent, then **BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP** loudly in my ear. "Hello, Amanda Hugginkiss?" Oh goody, another foreign man. He continues, "I am the floor supervisor today, how can I help you." This is the part that I kindly tell him that I wish to be called no more by the Daily Jackpot and that I don't appreciate the misleading information about no out of pocket expense only to have them so casually require an activation fee. After some back and forth for a moment about the fact that $7 and change is somehow no considered an out of pocket expense, I told him to change the script so that they are not misleading people. "Oh, yes I understand ma'am (why do these people always call everyone ma'am anyway? I'm practically still a teenager.) Then he proceeds to ask me how I will be paying for the activation fee. (Is this guy serious?)

- ZimraI stayed on the line with "Daily Jackpot" to find out what the questions were and to see if they were trying to get my financial information. I have a rotary phone so I could not press the numbers to answer and I hung up. I make it a habit to stay on the line with anyone trying to get my social security number or other private information so I can report them to law enforcement. They cut into the middle of my TV program and this is obnoxious.

- Tinaleib| 1 replyMy call wasn't from this 407 area code but it was the same scenario. Daily Jackpot I won a 100 Walmart gift card and they needed 2.95 to mail it. But wouldn't charge me that only 1.00. Then the India accent guy got on the phone and told me they were going to send out some information to look at if I liked I could buy it @ 2.95. I had a pre paid cc I wanted to see just what kind of scam it really was. They told me about four different things beauty club and a few more. Assured me I wouldn't be charged. Had me tell them my address numerous times along with my name so much I was really getting annoyed. It has been about three or four weeks still nothing in the mail. But they have tried to charge me numerous times. Charges were declined no funds on card and also tried to charge from outside U.S.A. I have deactivated the card number and got a different card. But they are still everyday trying to charge the deactivated card number. I'm still waiting for my gift shopping certificate (ha ha.)

- jenn replies to TrevorI received a call from them using our local area code (919) NC and I searched and found the number below and called and although the man answered on the first ring, he said he was NOT the owner but would take my number off the list (it may take 24 hours). If I receive another call from them I will report it as harassment to the local authorities. Thanks for providing a number, hopefully it will help with these wasting minutes of checking my voicemail.
