Person was calling from "Local vent cleaning company."  I hung up and he immediately called back and told me to "F-off" and hung up.  I tried to call back to complain and the number is not valid.  What gives?
Someone should talk to them and get all the company information to file a complaint.  This should be illegal to hide behind a bogus number!

I keep getting calls from this number - no message left - annoying!

Just got a call from this number and after I said hello twice, I heard an electronic 'thank you" and it hung up  Go figure.  I usually don't answer without really checking ID but am waiting on an important call and just picked up.

They called heard me answer and say hello twice, & they immediately hung up on me.  What gives? Jerks!

I just received a call from 408-164-7558 at 1:33pm on 09/16/13. There was no response when I answered but then a computer voice said good bye. When I called the number back, I got the "Your call cannot be completed as dialed" message.

This number looked familiar but one that was not blocked on my phone - now it is. Called at 3PM - didn't answer of course.

I got a call at 12:03 AM and didn't answer, and they didn't leave a msg.  I've had calls from that number during the day, but never before just after midnight.  That is ridiculous!  Why can't something be done?

I just received a call from this number as well.  If I get called multiple times, I'll call the phone company

This guy is a creep.  He said he called and had the wrong number but he wanted to talk.  he was a creep and then got creepier when he started asking me out.  I hung up on him.

On my Caller ID it says "Name Not Found".  I answered and said hello-hello....no answer...so I hung up!

 

I finally answered since this number kept calling. Horrible connection, sounded like a call center (people in background) he said they were H&R construction with a 25 percent discount on materials, bathroom, kitchen remodels, outdoor work, could they come out for a free estimate? I said 'no thank you' and he slammed the phone on me. Hope it ends the calls...

UPDATE  I answered earlier today and the guy said they were offering a free estimate for house repairs, upgrades, when I said no, thank you he slammed the phone down. He just called back, asked for me or my husband by name. I told him I'd already had a call and to not call back. He again slammed the phone down.

I live in the 408 area code, and do not recognize the 164 prefix.  I simply do not answer calls where I do not know the number shown on caller ID.  If it is important, the answering machine will take the message, and I will return the call.

Got a call from 408-164-7558 ... man's voice (no accent, American English), asked for me by name AND address.  He said he was following up on "fliers" that had been distributed.  Was pitching very vague outdoor or indoor remodeling.  I told him "not interested", man said I'd get a flier anyway.  Bizarre.  Obviously, bizarre enough for me to look up the number on-line, and post this.  I felt suspicious about someone "casing" our residence.  I will have phone company put a "trap" on the line if the calls continue.
