Caller asked for someone by name who does not work here then asks to speak to an IT manager next.  He had a heavy accent along with a bad call connection and people talking in the background.

[Normally, I use the moniker "Switchboard," but since the prior poster beat me to it, I've had to create another.]  Twice so far today (you know they'll be back), a woman with an accent asked to speak with a generic IT manager in order to send a white paper and other information.  I receive so many of these calls on a daily basis that I no longer bother to say that the company considers them to be soliciting; I just transfer them to Purchasing.  The very next caller, also from a pest number (415-230-0545), gave the same spiel, resulting in the same consequence.

Always asking for those in the IT groups which in our company are too busy and as a policy do not accept live calls. But, apparently this is a call center that is outbound only (and from the accents off shore too boot) and are not permitted to leave messages. But they try 2 ... 3 ... sometimes 4 times or more a day with the same response. Perhaps eventually it will sink in.

Got a call from this number and didn't answer. The message that they left was 30 seconds of elevator music and then a automatic voice message stating that I should leave my message after the tone.

I am in IT and can only assume that the call was transferred to me by our receptionist.  By rule, I only answer calls from numbers that I recognize or have appointments with.  They left no number, but I have answered many calls similar to the ones mentioned in other posts.  I have a hard time believing that this approach produces any quality (or quantity) of results.  Nice Try!

Obvious overseas call center. Accented caller asked for the IT guy. I gave the standard "not available" response. Caller said " 'Kay" and hung up.

Get calls from these clowns frequently. Hard to hear with quick speaking and heavy accent, but sounded like something like "Tech Service IT Group". Already have my email and phone number, so I can't stop them. I am always polite, but firm in that I don't give them permission to send email and I am not interested in their services.

Maybe I shouldn't be so nice?

They also called very often at my company. They always want to speak to IT.

The funny thing: The name of one woman was Lisa Fernandez called from this number and had a very bad Indian accent. So annoying. She always repeated she's from IBM. :D
