Indian accent says he is from Dell Support.  I told him mine was fine and hung up.  Found this number on other site also saying from Microsoft.  Block this number !!

caller states from Dell, kinda rude
advises something is wrong with my dell computer and wants information off of it.
its a scam you ask him questions
he becomes hostile and hangs up.

Number keeps calling....Thanks for the heads up! I does make me wonder how they know I own a Dell computer.

Phone rang. I answered. Person hung up.

Hangs up, never leave message, told them to remove my number from their calling list. I had already placed it on the National Do not call list. The NDNCL list seems to be useless...

Yes, he said he was from Microsoft, although I was suspicious, I wanted to see what he would say, so I went as far as getting on a web site with him where an .exe file was automatically downloaded which he was "guiding" me to click on so that he would "help" me on line.. It actually was a file that would allow him to take control of my laptop..

Guy called saying my Dell computer has problems, e.g., "more than half of my background services are not working."  He was trying to make me run some program off my computer.  Pretty quickly figured out this was a scam. His accent sounded more Chinese than Indian. I indulged him a little bit to be sure he wasn't IT, but after he became very short and hostile with his words, I just hung up.

I have received 7 calls from this number since 4-19-2016. No one leaves a message or answers. I am on the Do Not Call list so I will be filing a complaint about these scammers.

Just had a call from a person representing Dell And he has a heavy East Indian accent. He said that they needed to get into my computer and work on it. I immediately told him to get lost. This is a SCAM so protect yourselves.

Received a call from this number - answered - no response - then they hung up.

Received multiple calls from 408-256-9856 telling me there is a problem with my computer.

Same here.  Been calling nearly every day for weeks; finally answered today.  Kept him on the line for nearly 5 minutes.  I'm in IT and savvy.  How do we keep dillwads like this from preying on our Mothers?

I just received a call from this number. He had a African accent and said he was from Microsoft and that unknown computers were connecting to my computer & server and that would really "cost up". I made him repeat himself 3 times and he started to yell his scam at me. I told him I would call Microsoft myself. Then he hung up. Careful folks. This is the second such call I've gotten in the past couple months. I wish I could get my number back from where ever dark place on the internet it is circulating.

I get calls about once a week from these posers acting like Dell Support trying to convince me something is wrong with my computer. I often will answer if I have time and proceed to act like I'm none the wiser and act like I'm fumbling about on my computer trying to do as they ask. Merely trying to find out what exactly they are trying to accomplish while wasting enough of their time that they eventually remove my number from their directory. What [***]!

Received a call from this number stating they were from dell windows department, problem with my computer, accent of another country, hung up on him. These people are calling every day.

These people call every day, sometimes twice.  Thank you for your posts so I know what to expect.  I haven't answered as the number is unknown to me. I assumed it was something like this.

this caller calls 5-6 times a day. Foreign accent - says he's from Dell. Similar to the Microsoft scam. Hang up!

I have been getting calls from this number. Nobody speaks just hangs up. Irritating!!

I think this is some sort of scam. The guy with a heavy indian accent claims to be from Dell support and there is a problem with my computer. Only problem is I don't have a Dell computer. They keep calling even after they have been told I don't have a Dell computer.

Been calling for the last few days - never leave a message.  After them calling 8 times (twice today) I answered and after a pause, someone got on and claimed they were from Dell.   Told them I did not have a Dell and told them to take me off the calling list.   Reported this via the FCC web site (although by the time they investigate they will change their phone number, if it's not already spoofed).
