I don't know from where they got my cell phone number. Hope it doesn't come from the celll phone company or any other source they don't have authorization to call me.

I don't know from where they got my cell phone number.- Caller: Unknown
- DougCalled saying that I had "filled out an online survey" looking for a job. When I pressed the guy about the name of the website where I supposedly filled out this form, he said he didn't know, just that "he had an entry in his computer" for me. I asked for which employer he was recruiting, and he said he was just going to help me create a free profile for "local jobs". There were really long pauses between me asking him questions and his answers. This smells like a phishing scam.
- nguyenThis number call to ask me kill a Police man
- annoyedgot a call from them. didn't answer cause I didn't recognize the number. Caller ID comes up as CA Gilroy

- ddpJust got a call from this number, I answered and the person on the other line didn't say anything and hung up. ID said Gilroy, CA
- ddp| 1 replyYou could call back the number and there is an option for you to press 9 and enter your phone number if you wish to not be called anymore.
- yeah right replies to ddpWhat if you just want to confirm you number to the scammers so they can share it with other scammers and you can get even more junk phone calls? Oh wait, that's what happens if you press 9!
Are you deliberately trying to fool people on this site, or are you just hopelessly stupid? - ADDP is an associate related to the phone number. He has posted the same message on different sites.
Hopefully these degenerates don't call back.- Call type: Telemarketer

ID said Gilroy, CA. - me tooGot this call but didn't pick up. They didnt leave voice mail.
- same with meGot this call on my cell but didn't pick up. They didn't leave voice mail.
- Same hereJust like everyone else is mentioning... I'm in Silicon Valley here, and call came into my cell (so who sold off my number?). I've marked my call here on the site as "Telemarketer" but I've certain this is a phishing call scam. I assume at some point victims are confused and say "Yes" to having filled out their fake survey and likely make a promise of either winning something, or promise a possible job opportunity. Likely the scam ends with a compelling fake incentive to entice suckers into giving up personally identifiable information which is used against them later in an entirely different attack vector.
Details:
Caller ID showed up as Gilroy, CA. (408-413-0916). He said something along the lines of "I'm with [some company that does market research or career placement] and we help match people up with jobs, and I'm following up with you about a survey you recently completed. Is that you sir?" I said what survey? He replied after a pause, "A survey you responded to at WalMart for a $100 gift card about job placement questions". I told him I never go to WalMart so I knew it was BS, and asked his name. (long pause) "Joseph Peters". I said spell it. (long pause) "J as in Jack, O as in Oscar....". I asked him where his call center is and after a long pause he said "I'm in Orlando, Florida." I asked him why he's lying because the number came up out of Gilroy, California. Then I called him "Peter" and asked him another fast series of questions and his pre-recorded snippets got jumbled and he repeated his original introductory line exactly.- Caller: Some bogus company in Orlando supposedly
