recording saying that you have won money towards a cruise in Cancun Mexico, and to press 1 to receive prize.

*press one, and you are transferred to a live operator, she will ask you if you are over the age of 25, **don't answer, just say they have called a business and you need the number put on their Do Not Call list**  she was really polite and apologized and took my number off the list.

quick and simple, don't yell, don't get mad, when you get the pre-recorded msgs wait and hear it out, accept the prize and talk to a live operator and then ask to be put on the do not call list! :)
used to be a telemarketer myself before i got me a real job, if you are polite to them, they will put you on the do not call list, but if you yell and scream and swear at them, they have no reason "personally" to be nice to you and can easily toss your number back in the pile to be called again.

I got a call from 408-418-5582 at my new work #. I answered the call, but no response. When I called them back, there was a message stating, press 1 for free $100 walmart gift card.

A cruise to the Bahamas!!! Get out of here!

Some WCA company offering $ 100 gift card.....they do have an option of asking them not to call...

I really appreciate Tanya's comments above.  What a good way to deal with telemarketers!

I, too, have done telemarketing...but for a non-profit charity that provides help to abused children.  The law concerning non-profits and the "Do Not Call" list doesn't apply.  However, if someone ever told me not to call back, then , why bother...go to the next call and perhaps they will say yes. With the economy as it is today, some people have to take jobs doing telemarketing to feed their families...However, it does annoy me very much when done improperly. And, if your client says NO, once should be enough.

M-A-N-Y calls from this California # and I live in Canada. I am on a 'do not call' list in Canada, but I don't know if that applies to U.S. numbers, as well...

They called our house late last night while I was sleeping. They didn't bother to answer back after I said "hello" 3 times so I hung up on them.

i got a call from this number, does not accept calles from blocked numbers, but its some kind of subscribers services yet it does not recogonise my number sheesh, its from california yet im in canada, i hate hangups and calles claiming i won some big prize
