I got a call from this number at 4:51 pm.  i tried calling back but got a recording that said to call back during normal business hours and a customer care representative would be happy to assist me.  No name, business or otherwise, was given, and it still wasn't quite five o'clock.  Legitimate businesses aren't usually so mysterious.

The Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.  The DNC list does not cover calls from criminal scammers & spammers.  To report those, visit https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Caller ID: South San Francisco Bay Area.  I called back, the recording said:
"Hi this is Lisa with Reward Redemption.  You recently visited one of our affiliate websites."
There is an offer to win a $100 rebate card.
Oooooooo, a "Reward Card"!   NOT a gift card.  Big difference.
    Either way, block the number.

What's weird about this number is that I was staying at a hotel in the San Francisco Bay Area when the call came through. I was already on the phone talking to someone else so the call waiting alert went off, but they immediately hung up. I find that interesting because I've never received a call from that number before, yet there it was when I just happened to be staying in the area code that the call originated from.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Yep... "reward redemption" offering a $100 rewards card for "visiting an affiliate website".

Total scam. Don't give them any of your details, and for sure don't give them your credit card details.
    • Caller: "Reward Redemptions", probably fake

Recv'd call at about 7:30 pm. Rang twice then stopped. "Lisa" with reward redemption. The message says "press 2 to be placed on our do not call list." So I pressed 2 and the call just suddenly dropped.
