WHY WOULD SOMEONE CALL AND ASK IF I RECEIVED A REFUND CHECK FROM 2010 ??

Two people have called from this number in the past two weeks trying to get an email address for anyone in our system.  They gave the name of a freight company, said that they were from accounts payable, and were updating their PO system.  I told them that we did not use a freight company and when I would not give them an email address, they insisted that they were our customer and continued to press for an email address.  Didn't give one and hung up.  (They did use the name of a legitimate company but I do not want to state it and connect them to this bogus call.)

Foreign accent, says they are from accts payable of Yellow Freight and are switching over to a new PO based system. They want the information of our account receivable to send them an e-mail. Will not give me a phone number (number I have from caller ID). Says he is stationed out of Kansas but this is a CA phone number.

Very same caller asking for a filled out W9 with company info. Not sure this is legitimate sounds like a hack, for information to steal identity and open fraudulent loans or accounts. Contacting Yellow Freight direct to verify. Glad you posted your experience. Thanks

Got a call from this number, I could not understand a word they said. They hanged up and called two more times and then stopped.

Four missed calls within a three minute time period from this number. No voice message was left. Finally was able to pick up when they called a fifth time 30 minutes later. Caller hung up without saying a word.

Kept giving me a claim number saying he hadn't received any information about it. I asked what company he was calling then he hung up.  408-524-9200

Very heavy foreign accent- said something about YRC freight and needed a W9 emailed.  When I asked her to repeat where she was from, she hung up.  Called again 30 seconds later.  No one on the line when I answered.  Something fishy about this one.

A lady with a light foreign accent keeps calling in regards to an "active life insurance policy" that my deceased mother in law was supposed to have had.  They are using her nickname and not her birth name.  Wanting us to call them with information for them to complete their claim.

First he called with a blocked number - I couldn't understand him and hung up.  He immediately called back with this number - something about the status of his insurance claim.  He asked, You're our insurance company, right?  No - we're contractors.

Male caller asking for our businesses accounts payable department, seemed scammy so sent call to after-hour voicemail that is never answered and also blocked this number from calling again. :-)

Oh and also like stated in previous comments, I was unable to understand a work of who the guy said he is or who he is with. He spoke extremely quickly and I believe I heard a clicking sound once I said hello so I think they are recording without informing.

Called saying from BG and had my address, asking me to confirm, do not have an account with BG though

Heavy accented man who said his name is Aman Deep calling on behalf of AIG insurance saying that we have a mutual client named Denesco Corp. He must have been reading from a script as he didn't realized he called a restaurant. Stated his direct line is (862) 235-1816 which is a different number from the one he called from. Obviously a SCAM!

Well I guess based on all the different companies this phone number generates we can all call it a scam. I received a call from this number and the caller said they were Aetna insurance company looking for a refund.

Fraud. Will ask for your SSN#. Do not give this number your info.
