It's Apple customer service/support.  Not a scam or a telemarketer, as most people own - and have serviced - at least one Apple product.  It takes five seconds to type a number into Google and come up with dozens of results, many of which include the company name.  Wow.

    It is NOT Apple
It's a telemarketer. You can Google apples support or contact phone numbers and that's not one of them

I received a call from this number on my tablet on an app that's a text free app.... I don't know why apple would be calling me considering it is not an apple product.

Whoever says it's Apple is from that fraudulent company, Click4Support.  It's objective is to steal your identity and money.   Apple does not use this number.   Go to the Apple Store and get their actual phone number.

If they state they're from Apple, it's a scam.   It's that phony company, Click4Support; they harass people when they can't get any money or identity information.

its apple support.....i called apple with a problem and they called me back the next day with the solution from this number.  Remember that anyone can put any number as their caller id.  sounds like they are using the apple phone number to hid their identity.

This number just called me and I did not answer it. I do not carry any Apple products so they wouldn't need to be calling me. I do work for a cell carrier and they would call my business before my cell.

I received a 'no message' call from this number today. No message usually means 'no good'. I called the number and an automated voice greeted me saying this is, Avaya Messaging Services. I looked it up and apparently anyone can 'rent' this number. When you call it you'll be told to put in "the mail box number" (presumably belonging to the caller) or to "press zero for assistance". I pressed zero and all it does it route you back to the automated greeting. So it's not a spoof but someone wishing to remain anonymous who's renting a common number. So it makes sense that people may be getting calls from legitimate sources or technicians who are calling from their private number. However as I said, anyone can rent this number and I'm sure many of the calls coming from it are from scammers and bottom feeders as well as legitimate calls.

Very simple solution to this. If it's apple support why does caller id show out of area or unassigned ? I always use 1-800-my apple and any return calls have all said Apple.

It's apple support. They called me multiple times from this number. I originated the call in the first place. It's certainly possible that someone spoofs the number. But if you're like me looking for numbers in caller ID, hopefully, this post jogs your memory about your call with Apple support.

Call back gets "Welcome to Orion Messaging.  Please enter the mailbox number of the person you are trying to reach.  If you do not have the mailbox number please enter the name...."  It goes on to tell you to remain on the line if you need assistance.  Sorry, that doesn't really clear up the confusion.

Definitely Apple Support - I was on a support call with them, I got disconnected, and they called me back from this number.
