Call but no message on a former landline turned cell line. My truecaller app identified it as "J Grier".

I got a call from this number from a person with an Indian or Pakistan accent telling me that they were from Windows Technical Support.  I am sure that this is the support scam but I hung on them before they could tell me that my computer was infected with a virus.

Just got a call from this number.  Did not recognize it so did not answer.  Tried calling it back with *67 to block my caller ID nothing but a busy signal.

I received a call from this number yesterday while I was out. No message left and like the first poster in this thread noted the caller ID read, "Grier J."  Keep in mind that computer programs makes it possible to have a caller ID read, "Santa Clause," if the violators want it to. I do not put much interest in what the caller ID says. The next time they call it will probably read something completely different. My phone system allows me to block entire area codes if I want to and I think I will put a block on the 410 code.

I got a call from this number 7/22/15 with the name of Joann Grier. I didn't answer it. They did not leave a message on the answering machine, but just hung up.

Received a call this morning with caller id of Joann Grier.  It as a male with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft support.  I told him to hold on while we initiated a trace of the call to determine fraud.  I expected him to hang up but he didn't.  I then asked him to tell me what my IP address was and he told me it started with 115.1 I told him it was a scam and hung up

Just got a call from this number,  Indian accent said he represented windows and my computer was being invaded with a virus.  I disconnected and blocked the number.

This showed up on caller ID but but thick foreign accent guy said it was about my Windows account & when I said i didn't have Windows he hung up very quickly.

Same here. Indian accent says from Windows support. Caller ID says Grier, J.     DUH

410 area code is Maryland.

Same as described above. Caller ID showed J Grier. Windows tech support scam. There has to be a way of stopping these morons?! I can't count how many times they have called from various numbers. You block one number and another one pops up. I'd love to get a bullhorn or a whistle and when they come on the line, blow their eardrums out!

Got that call yesterday afternoon with the usual you have a virus ruse.

Started to laugh at him which got him upset.  Asked why I was laughing and told him that he was a joke.

Laughed some more whereupon he uttered a profanity and hung up....

seems like a junker.  silent when i picked up then after a few seconds an automated robot said goodbye.  probably from an robot dialer system.

I like to answer these calls like this...
"States attorneys office, fraud prevention division"

same as above told me they were from windows told them I was not responsible to handle a computer they would call back

This person keeps calling.  J. Grier, but it is a man with a think Indian accent.  IT IS A SCAM!!!   He does no like to be laughed at.

I think this is attached to a scam. Instead of the usual "out of Area, or unknown caller " ID, they are using a name to get you curious to further finding out that named person would call you.  It shouldn't matter since you don't know that name and no message was left. Never seek to find out, that's also part of the scam.

3:28 PM - first call from this number. Didn't answer, they left no message.
