- Samantha replies to AlfonsoBullsh!t! NEVER give ANY information to anyone who cold calls you like that. You give them the first 5 digits of your social security number, and they are well on their way to stealing your identity.
- Samantha replies to coolioThese calls are definitely a scam and the Caller ID proves it. How? Maybe I shouldn't tell you. But the phone number is definitely faked.
- Samantha replies to JeffI guess you never heard of caller ID spoofing. Notice how when the people here say they wanted a number to call the "SSA" back, they get hung up on? Is that not enough of a red flag?
- JimI received a call 15 minutes ago (2:39 p) from 410-965-1234. They left no message. A little research suggested it was a Social Security number in Baltimore. I called, they answered. Voice machine for SSA giving a number of options for different constituent clientele: Social Security Benefits; Disability payments; employer information; etc. I believe it to be legitimate, but since they left no message I have no way to respond.
- Caller: Social Security Admin
- chedstromno idea who is call but what ever they want I don't have it or want it
- AHere's a crazy one, I got a spam call from this number at 11PM on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to my work number. And I actually work at SSA. This is definitely a case of ID spoofing.
- Tashie| 3 repliesIt's a scam I recently filled out a friends third party information for social security so I take it whoever is doing this works for social security! They also called me the day after Thanksgiving asking for the wrong name but asking my friends info and mother's maiden name I say shouldn't you have that after I said that she started getting a attitude she said she needed info but never actually asked a question besides personal info I say call my friend and give her his number but it was on my mind that thr call was odd that's what made me Google it so thanks everyone for the info I hope they get caught!

- JamesOkay so just to add to this post - it really is a scam. If it is Social Security then perhaps I should ask this question:
WHY ARE THEY CALLING A CANADIAN?????
Just curious ;) - paul| 1 replyWhen you make a congressional or presidential inquiry regarding you SSA disability claim, this is one of the VoIP numbers they use when they call you regarding your claim. Also when the Baltimore office doesn't have direct deposit info to send you your back pay, they call you. If you ignore them your claim can be delayed or you will get a generic direct deposit debit card. They have other reasons for calling too. If you don't trust this number call the SSA hotline at 800 772 1213 and have them attach a security code word to your account then when they call you you will know for sure it is them. You can also call 800 772 1213 to see if they are in fact calling you. You can also go to any SSA office to set up the phone security code.

- Vernoncarnes smithThanks for this great information.
http://foilbusinesscards1.webs.com/ - D Moore replies to Geo| 3 repliesI work for SSA. The number is from SSA Headquaters in Baltimore. Call it, you will see. SSA will call on week ends because we work some week ends when OT is available. And no, we won't always send you a letter that we are calling. Sometime the field office will but here in ODAR (Falls Church, VA) we don't. you want to trace this IP, then do. It is a computer at my desk. I am on break so don't [***] that I am wasting time on the net when I should be working.
- MeI received a call from 410-965-1234 . I didn't get to the phone to answer and they left no message, so I googled the number and came to this site. After reading all the is and isn't on here I chose to call Social Security myself, after speaking with them and telling them about this, they said they have no knowledge of these calls and checked my information to see if there was a reason to be calling me....they found no reason, so I gave them the number that called me and it is being sent up the ladder for investigation. My opinion ....this is NOT Social Security. If you have doubts call Social Security yourself and ask why they would be calling you. Enough calls to Social Security reporting this number will get the ball rolling on investigating who it is.

- Bridget WillsSeveral years ago I was hounded by calls from them, always Hanging up,leaving no messages,The calls would come in at all hours of the night & early in the morning. We would return calls to the 410- 965 -1234 it would ring , somebody would pick up & would not say anything, According to our Phone Carrier it is called ' dead air"
the partys on the other end can hear you & they can switch you to unknown areas. after my husband & I complained we received a call from Ester Adams she said she was with social security adm. We also got a ton of calls from GSA AGENCY 703-605-7000 who identifies them self as Social Security Adm. I have returned calls to that number & talked to people @ that number they SWEAR they are the office of Social Security Adm. always searching for information even asking for my & my husbands Social Security numbers. They even called members of our family in the state of Massachusetts looking for me .
On 2/13/2013 I got another call from 703-605-7000 phone# 410-966-7929 also verified.left message it was social security adm. advised me to go to my local office to file an appeal because they dont have my open case the person did NOT identify who they were,I called back 410-966-7929 the lady answered the phone stating Social Security I said I was returning a call, she asked for my name,I have it to her, she wanted to know who called me I said nobody left me a message, she got very defensive,I asked her for her name so
I could have it on the record that I returned the call. she got defensive, said something that sounded like Mrs.TYE & hung up on me or cut me off I called back & got a loud scrambled noise. We are survivors of fraud & it involves our social security numbers also. SO BE WARE DONT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE ,MY CONGRESSMANS OFFICE HAD ADVISED US THAT SOCIAL SECURITY WOULD ALWAYS SENT A LETTER THEY WOULD NOT CONTACT PEOPLE GATHERING INFORMATION ,- Caller: social security gsa agency
- chicago1234If this number is from an office, why wouldn't they be leaving a message?
I've gotten four calls from them in the past hour and haven't picked up. They haven't left a message. Seems to me if it were a litigate office calling that they would leave a message. - gotonetooThis number called me as well. Its not in my contacts so i googled it. No message was left.
- its a real number replies to D MooreThis number just called me and left a message regarding an issue I had with SSA. The gentleman left his name and number so yes it is indeed a real working number to the SSA.
- DeeI got a call from this number also. When the call went to voice mail they hung up. If this was a legitimate SSA call, why wouldn't they leave a message?
- Caller: US Govt
- AnnHow more day before they will stop calling 10 times for3 days now
- marcusI got al call from this #, I have a claim, but don't know to trust it, I am reading all of the comments , so I think the people saying this number is ok, they are the scam, I am a retired police officer with 15 years, this does not pass the smell test, if it is the ssa, they will leave a message, and I just called the regional local office, and no notes was in the system that anybody was trying to contact me. so just call youre local office if you have any questions, also when a rep will speak to you, they will ask more than the first digits of youre ssn, they will ask and verify youre d-o-b, your full address, youre mother maiden name,
so ask the scammer or whoever on the phone you tell me some information about me if you are legite, they will know everything, when you filled for social security.when you sign up for social security they ask for everything up front, there is no reason for asking anything. and the processing center for the check is at Baltimore m.d. these scammers are smart , this is there living and to make money rather than work at a real career or job, so they are going to pull every trick in the book to fool you.
so you scammers writing on this site to fool people , you game is up, if you don't want a pissed off cop, on youre ass, you better pack it up, - TidalWaveOne| 2 repliesThis is a legit call from the Social Security Office.
Perhaps some scammers are spoofing this number, but my call from this number was LEGIT.- Caller: Social Security Office.
