There is some kind of continuous champaign from bottom feeders to try to trick me into picking up the phone to hear their scam by using varying fake Caller IDs and various phone numbers. My phone can be quiet from spam calls for weeks and then, all of a sudden, I get hit with up to 4 calls per day. Also, they use different company names, but I think that are the same or working together.

The last seveal days have gone like this:

03/27/13 Wednesday 5:44pm, 2nd call today, called from 412-235-6111 using caller ID "PORTFOLIORECOVE". 800notes identified as Portfolio Recovery Associates.

03/27/13 Wednesday 1:27pm, called from 800-772-1413 using caller ID "TOLL FREE CALLE". 800notes identified as Portfolio Recovery Associates.

03/26/13 Tuesday 3:35pm they called from phone number 281-901-6998, using Caller ID: "Private Caller" .  800notes identified them as United Recovery Systems - Debt Collector and/or NOVOLINKCOMM

03/25/13 Monday 12:54pm, called from 713-955-9266 using caller ID "UNASSIGNED".  800notes identified them as "United Recovery Systems".

03/23/13 Saturday 5:11pm, called from 800-772-1413 using caller ID "TOLL FREE CALLE". 800notes identified as Portfolio Recovery.

03/21/13 1:55 pm, they called from 909-912-7400 using Caller ID "Out of area".  800notes identified them as "ARS National", which is "Associated Recovery Systems" (Collections).

03/21/13 9:55 am, they called from 713-955-9267 using Caller ID "UNASSIGNED".  800notes identified them as "United Recovery Systems".

03/20/13 they called from 281-901-6994 using Caller ID "Private Caller".  800notes identified them as "United Recovery Systems" from Houston Texas.

03/19/13 they called from phone number 713-955-9269 using Caller ID "UNASSIGNED". 800notes identified as UNITED RECOVERY

Later 03/19/13 (2nd call) they called from phone number 713-955-9263, using Caller ID "UNASSIGNED". 800notes identified as United Recovery

Later again (3rd Call) 03/19/13 they called from phone number 800-772-1413, using Caller ID "TOLL FREE CALLE". 800notes identified as Portfolio Recovery

Later again (4th call) 03/19/13 they called from phone number 281-901-6998, using Caller ID: "Private Caller" .  800notes identified them as United Recovery Systems - Debt Collector and/or NOVOLINKCOMM

This is the way they work. Using different phone numbers, using fake Caller IDs.

I don't have outstanding debts!  This is just harassment.  There should be a law against this.

This insane and continuous calling to me, who has no debts, is NOT profitable to these companies, and serves no purpose.  So why do they never stop calling? Why do they call for days, months, years, without stopping? They should call people that don't pay their bills, credit card and loan payments.

Dear United Recovery Systems, NOVOLINKCOMM, Portfolio Recovery, and Associated Recovery Systems, PLEASE GO AWAY.  We know you are all the same company, using fake Caller IDs and many phone numbers.  I guess you do serve one purpose, companies like you make the American people hate you and hate what you do. You are a pest, and need to stop bothering people.

The old Portfolio Recovery trick!! This [***] buy debt on the dollar and many times, I believe, they call anybody with the same name hoping to nab someone. They used to call with a real number showing who they were. Now they are using many different numbers. The key is just don't answer numbers you don't recognize - which we always do. My credit record is clean and I don't owe anybody. I know there is another person with the same name but different middle name. I have come across this before and I believe these jerks are looking for him. If you answer these jerks, from what I understand, will try anything to catch you - even if you don't really owe anything!! If you really did they would leave a message or send you a registered letter - which of course they won't because the debt was written off by the originator. They just hope to catch you and make money off you. Screw them!

Rcvd 1st call this evening from Portfolio Recovery Associates using a new number assigned out of Pittsburgh PA (412-235-6111). This bad debt company located in Norfolk VA,  can continue to waste there time and money calling using different false numbers accross the U.S.. I have no outstanding debt of any kind so I don't bother anymore with answering or responding to their unwanted harassing calls.  I use a Call Blocker to block all their area codes from bothering or ringing my private number that disconnects their call prior to being able to leave any message.  So go ahead an continue to waste your time calling my private number that disconnects your call from any of your mis-leading/unidentified numbers. All area codes Portfolio Recovery uses have been block plus any unidentified numbers.

I file complaints with the FTC and FCC from Portfolio Recovery Associates for using a robocall dialer system and providing mis-leading numbers that can not be verified as a valid contact number used by this company.

You can turn the ringer off for any phone located in the room where you sleep. We do that at our house, not just for Portfoolio, but for all phone calls from any source.

by the time these Portfolio a$$holes call you, the so-called unverifiable "debt" is old enough to drive!  If it is even yours, or if it ever was.  Have you looked at your accounts to make sure nobody has been using your identity to run up unpaid debts at these other companies? portfolio has used nearly 50 numbers on the caller ID over the past three or four years. They get away with harassing the citizens because banksters have taken over what used to be our government.

Wow! Just when I thought they had forgotten me, Portfoolio called last evening apparently, according to the caller ID. They have been calling for four years now, nobody has ever picked up the phone. They shifted to a new performance lately using 800-772-1413, while hiding their identity on the caller ID, but now they are back to admitting who they are. This was call #307 since their sorry lawyer wrote to me and the attorney general's office that they could not verify the debt and that they had "decided to cease collection efforts."  I guess it takes a while for these vermin to adjust to new "decisions" -- that was more than two and a half years ago. What a stellar business plan. Call a prospect for more than four years, from four dozen numbers, nobody ever picked up even once, but keep on calling. Poor Portfoolio, maybe some day like magic someone will pick up and agree to send them a fat check for a phony unverified debt. Dream on. little Portfoolio, dream on;-)

    Get a new business plan
If these people would just live off the money they spend to pay their workers to harass people, and also the money spent on different phone numbers to hide who they are, they could probably live a nice relaxing life.  Then we could too.  Use some of that money you are wasting to hire someone who has a decent business plan.

They call constantly all the time on a daily basis.  Very annoying.  They say for a CapitalOne  credit card for $150 since the year 2000...Thirteen years later you tell me I still owe this amount.....WOW!!!!!

They have been calling me for several years.  Portfolio Recovery.  I love it, I am way beyond the statue of limitations.  I could send them a letter and then they would have to stop but I like the idea that they have to pay people to keep calling.

My suggested way to deal with them when they call, this is what I do and some of them get really aggravated.

I ask who the debt is with, when they say it is sears or verizon (who I tried to settle with originally) I ask why I would pay a company other than sears or verizon, they say they are in charge of the debt.  I let them know I never shopped with portfolio so why would I ever pay them.  They will keep insisting that they are now the owner of the debt and I tell them they should then contact verizon or sears to collect the debt.  They will continue to call but some of them really loose there cool.

Sometimes I will say to them that I am a little distracted because I am in the middle of watching a porn move so they have to excuse me if I ask them to repeat themselves.  This gets them mad.  I actually had a supervisor get on the phone telling me how rude I was, a few words into his talking to me I told him I had to go because I was about to you know what (he started screaming at me and I hung up).  LOL

I moved and got a new phone number, they were on it within 24 hours and started calling.  Thing is I didn't want the phone number, it was required with my cable plan.  I hooked it up to my fax machine and set it to auto pickup.

If you answer the phone, play with them let them get nasty, if you keep your cool they get more and more aggravated.

Good luck and keep your cool.
