Caller ID displayed Pittsburgh, PA.  We didn't answer since we didn't recognize the number and we don't know anyone in Pennsylvania.  Fat lot of good it does to be on the 'Do Not Display' list!

This is another number for Portfolio Recovery debt collector.

Debt collector confirmed.  Caller left a message trying to collect debt from a previous holder of my phone number.

portfolio... they just dont get it... they cant fool us with veriying phone numbers... they even have a 01 that comes uip on my caller ID... ooo.. arent they smart..(not)

With the internet allowing people to look up numbers bill collectors have NO chance in hell! No they aren't smart..............lol. I've heard they are now using cell numbers. I just never answer numbers that I don't know.

call and dont leave a message....i did not know the area code...was not going to answer..and now i checked on here    Block call from now on...so many numbers for Bill collectors...I just started back to work after 2 years...they are not getting caught up for 2 years  if then....thanks for listing the number everyone

Mine is from about 25 years ago, long charged off by the original company.  Husband at the time & I were both laid off & I had just gotten pregnant. >.<  Port Rec. never leaves a message & the time I did talk to someone, they lied about who they were & were very argumentative.  I have so many of their dumb cell phone numbers blocked now, losers.

They don't leave a message at all. I have had a difficult time with staying caught up in bills the last few years, so it probably is something that has gone to collections, but I have no mail or message from them.  The only reason I know they have tried calling is because I looked it up reverse phone directory online and came to this site.  I just think they will never receive whatever money they want because I have nothing that states what money I owe!!!!

Portfolio Recovery Associates is a bottom feeding debt collector trying to collect a debt from a previous person that had this number OVER 10 years ago.

They are certainly making the rounds though. Gotta call from them from a debt almost 20 years old. They can "suck it", as another person put it.

my bill is from 1999. i had made payment arrangements with the credit card company but they ddi not
keep the arrangements, so i was told by a friend who had been in situation to stop paying.

Portfolio Recovery trying to collect on Student Loans that I've consolidated and have been currently paying in the new loan. I told them that the last time they called but they won't let it go. Maybe they think I'll just give them a few thousand dollars for kicks? Who knows.

Collections.  they must be trying to collect on a debt that is well over 10 years old.. Because my credit report is good now. At one time during a divorce is got some dings, but hey, that was years and years ago.  How can they collect on a debt that is over 10 years old??????

these Azzholes have been calling for 3 years about a 250 dollar credit card bill from 1997, i have even told them i wouldn't pay them a god damn cent if i had it, low life fricking scum of the earth, too lazy to get a real damn job and i bet everyone of them voted for fricking Obama and probably on welfare

Have recieved many calls from this and other numbers for them trying to collect on my ex-husband's debts. I've just stopped answering the phone. They think because it's been 10 years and my credit is excellent now that I should pay for his sorry self? Umm...nope. My giveacrap is busted.

WOW these people keep calling. Tons of new numbers so you do not know who they are. I have never taken any call from these people, but yet they keep at it for over a year now. The number of calls has dropped from two per day to about 3 per week or less.

This company buys old dept that is past the SOL to file suit, or be on your credit report. This is called "junk debt" and they hope to strong arm you to pay it. They do not give any money back to the bank, but keep it.

Please do not feed this beast. Stay off the phone as you can not win with them. They are trained not to listen, but to get you to pay. Remember if you make any payment you re-start the clock on the dept and it can then be put on your credit report to hurt you. Also if you make a payment you affirm the debt and with the clock reset they can sue to collect ALL of it. Best bet is to stay of the phone.

hey Portfolio!!!   Please keep calling me!!!  seems your fricking constant calling is going to cost you a 1000 dollars that will be in my pocket soon, and you STILL WILL NOT get the money for the debt you keep calling about!!!  hope you enjoy talking to my lawyer this week!!!
