- KarenA woman named Kate calls every week, asks for the owner then hangs up when you ask her a question- any question! WHen you call back, she again says her name is Kate then hangs up.
- Ronin| 4 replies412-430-5549 - I've seen this number on our Caller ID before (R2J2 Company), usually from calls after our business is closed for the day, but there's never been a voice-mail left. Just now a woman named Kate just called my business from this same number. She asked 'May I speak to the owner?' Before I informed her that I am the owner, I inquired with 'May I ask who is calling please?' Her response was 'This is Kate from the bank.' Our business lines are, and have always been, on the DNC list. Plus, there is NO Kate working at the bank we use. We also have no prior business with this company that is calling us, nor do we need or require their more than likely fraudulent high interest rate loan services. After informing her that I am in fact the owner, she proceeds to ask me 'Are you the owner?' I could have sworn that I just informed her that I was the owner. Clearly she's a few marbles short in her sack. She then tries to go into a little spiel, and at that point I have to interrupt and inform her to 'Please remove our number from your calling list, and we will be reporting this call and any future calls from, your company as illegal and they will be deemed as harassment.' She then hung up. Guess it's time to file that FCC.gov formal complaint against them.

- Dannie replies to Roninyes, same here. i will be reporting it as harassment too. please everyone report this, it has to stop.
- Dannie| 1 replythis is from : http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls
The above # is clearly in violation of the FCC rules!
In addition, the FCC’s rules prohibit the use of autodialers in a way that ties up two or more lines of a multi-line business at the same time. All artificial or prerecorded telephone messages must state, at the beginning, the identity of the business, individual or other entity that is responsible for initiating the call. If a business is responsible for initiating the call, the name under which the entity is registered to conduct business with the State Corporation Commission (or comparable regulatory authority) must be stated. During or after the message, the caller must give the telephone number (other than that of the autodialer or prerecorded message player that placed the call) of the business, other entity, or individual that made the call so that you can call during regular business hours to ask that the company no longer call you. The number provided may not be a 900 number or any other number for which charges exceed local or long distance charges.
Autodialers that deliver a recorded message must release the called party’s telephone line within five seconds of the time that the calling system receives notification that the called party’s line has hung up. In some areas, you could experience a delay before you can get a dial tone again. Your local telephone company can tell you if there is a delay in your area.
Telemarketers must ensure that predictive dialers abandon no more than three percent of all calls placed and answered by a person. A call will be considered "abandoned" if it is not transferred to a live sales agent within two seconds of the recipient's greeting.
What You Can Do
The FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines against companies violating or suspected of violating the do-not-call rules, but does not award individual damages. If you receive a telephone solicitation that you think violates any of these rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an online complaint form. You can also file your complaint with the FCC’s Consumer Center by calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to:
Federal Communications Commission
Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau
Consumer Inquiries & Complaints Division
445 12th Street, SW
Washington, DC 20554.
What to Include in Your Complaint
The best way to provide all the information the FCC needs to process your complaint is to complete fully the online complaint form. When you open the online complaint form, you will be asked a series of questions that will take you to the particular section of the form you need to complete. If you do not use the online complaint form, your complaint, at a minimum, should indicate:
•your name, address, email address and phone number where you can be reached;
•the phone number where you received the call, and whether this number is on the national Do-Not-Call list;
•the date and time of the call;
•whether the call advertised or sold any property, goods, or services;
•any information (including a caller ID number) to help identify the individual or company whose property, goods, or services were being advertised or sold, and whether any of this information was provided during the call;
•whether you or anyone else in your household gave the caller permission to call;
•whether you have an EBR with the caller (specifically, whether you or anyone else in your household made any purchases of property, goods, or services from the individual or company that called, or made any inquiry or filed an application with the individual or company prior to receiving the call); and
•whether you or anyone in your household previously asked the caller or individual or company whose property, goods, or services are being advertised or sold NOT to call, and when you made the request.
Some states permit you to file law suits in state court against persons or entities violating the do-not-call rules. You may be awarded $500 in damages or actual monetary loss, whichever is greater. The amount may be tripled if you are able to show that the caller violated the rules willfully and knowingly. Filing a complaint with the FCC does not prevent you from also bringing a suit in state court.
States also can bring a civil law suit against any person or entity that engages in a pattern or practice of violating the TCPA or FCC rules. You can contact your state Attorney General’s office or consumer protection agency with particular complaints, or to encourage such suits.- Call type: Telemarketer

- Fred| 1 replyThe Caller ID says this is LIFE HELP. It was an automated message offering a medical alert system for seniors.
I surf a lot of websites about Illuminati/New World Order and I wonder if that is why all of a sudden I am getting these calls. Besides this one I also received a phone call offering me a free alarm system from General Electric.
Do any of you also notice a pattern about the websites you go on and these phone calls? Are they trying to monitor us? Or am I just paranoid? - JulieCaller ID: SERVICE1CALL. Received this call at my business and I do not answer soliciting phone calls.

- ann p.They called and I just said "Hello?" (I don't say our company name when I don't know the number on the caller id) and they asked for owner. I asked who they were and they gave me vague name. I asked what that business was and they said "This actually a matter for the owner only. Are you them?" and I told them that in that case I guessed they wouldn't be talking to anyone and slammed the phone down. I am so tired of people like this. If you were a reputable business, your caller id label wouldn't be misspelled, and you would be willing to talk to anyone.
ps- About reporting... in my experience, it's just not as easy as people make is sound, sadly. I went online and had to fill out all this crap for each number I wanted to report, like I had to prove it really happened. I only did one because it wasn't it wasn't worth my time. It would have taken me 10 minutes per number if not more, and they ask for dates and times, etc.
It's like these people have more rights than we do, and it's not fair. Someone should really streamline this process to make it simply to report.- Call type: Telemarketer

- MikeWell, I actually talked to Kate and she stated the call was regarding a cash flow loan for my business use. When I told her I didn't need a loan, she stated that there were other financial services that she could access. When I asked what company she was with, she stuttered and was told to remove me from her call list.
- CJI have now received a few calls from this number. Since I don't know the caller, he/she calls while I am at work, and the number has appeared on multiple lists of this type, I have yet to answer. No message is ever left. My number has been on the do not call list for awhile and has been updated for the listing within the past 6 months or so.
